Key words gentlemen. Never confuse discipline with love. Teach your kids discipline is the biggest expression of love. Because the one who doesn’t care will never show you the consequences of your actions and let the government show you that lesson.😢 stop the mental games. Discipline is to be enforced by both. WFM at it’s best

School doesn't make "capable" men. Having love and compassion does💕

I feel so on the fence about this. If you feel like school is important and mske it s priority than your kids will follow you.

Your top priority should ALWAYS be love with your child. Emotional stability and intelligence is what makes you a capable adult.

Sadly the restructuring of “you have to go to school” is not my idea of parenting. It’s about being excited to go to school, showing and telling your kids how cool it is to be with their friends and learn. At times, kids want to be home…because it’s too comfortable. I used to tell my kids, “oh, you want to stay home? Okay, you’ll have to do chores.” Never once all through school did they want to miss school. NEVER make your home so comfortable, they never want to leave home. Bribing your kids with iPads/money to go to school…not in my household. And that’s why my kids left home at 18 and are financially independent, never asked me for money. But that’s My parenting style…

If their overall attendance is not an issue
Then having a day you want special off shouldn't be an issue.
If you want to relate to adulthood
then give notice that they won't be attending that day two weeks in advance, and get whatever work needed to be done that day
done ahead of time.
There is a balance though to raising children to be adults, but still allowing them to be children. They spend the rest of their lives as adults, they only have such a short time to be children.
Besides, taking time away from work
to celebrate special moments, Will be something you will hope they would do
when you are both older, and their time with you becomes far more limited. Work if done exceptionally regularly, will still be there when they get back. Time with family, tomorrows are never promised, at any age.
