Azalea Carnage ✂️(for its own good)

I'm not sure what was wrong with these plants, but I cut them back with a client last December and they grew like crazy this year. Plants are amazing and don’t be afraid! If you prune at this time of year, there is more stress on the plant because it’s about to get cold, but these plants were very unhappy anyway. I don’t think they even had any buds on them so it didn’t make sense to suggest waiting until after they bloom in the spring, which is otherwise what I would recommend. Meanwhile, I recommended adding some compost after the pruning and then fertilize in the spring. And remove as much ivy away from the trunks as possible.

I just plant 25 emerald green 2.5ft apart to the center each other, but now I’m wondering if I did correctly..😢 what distance has to be apart each other to create a dense fence?

Looks good. You must have given them a good fertilizer too.
