Sometimes videos about your everyday life are just as interesting. Fingers crossed for the cruiser!

Good luck on your car problem, Tristan. 😮 Loved the mirror still lake! That was gorgeous with the perfect image of the surroundings. You always find the most remote interesting places to take us on your great videos. ❤🙋🏼‍♀️👍🏻

FYI - the La Plata Mountains (the La Platas to us) are a subrange of the San Juan Mountain Range. The road you’re up is a very well “loved” area because it’s so close to Durango. Good video, as usual!

Thanks for being a responsible and considerate drone user! I really enjoy the drone footage in your videos, and you use it well to add to the stories you tell, so I'm glad you are able to get that footage in a way that respects others' enjoyment of wilderness.

Yes those were tube and shell boilers, used to generate steam for some process. And that fabric is geofabric which comes in many types and is used in that case to try to control erosion.
That no power mode on the vehicle is called limp mode and is intended to force the driver to get service. We have been thru it twice once for a blown hose on the turbine and the second time for a bad sensor on the emission system. Neither major issues.

Your car appears it went into diminished power mode. I'm surprised your check engine light didn't go on. Please take it in and have it checked. You don't want your transmission to fail while you are driving. Stay safe and take care!

You're correct. That fabric is used to control erosion.

As a mechanic I often wonder about vehicle issues in the wild. I hope to experience these troubles someday! Great video

You have such an amazing attitude in life! You got me into car camping. Started watching you years ago (2017? 2018?) Started traveling and living in my Subaru Outback in 2022. I have your car hammock (love it), and the strap with hooks that goes across ceiling of car( don’t remember name of it)This is my 3rd summer. Am currently camping between Buena Vista and Salida very close to section 14 of Colorado trail. My Aussie and I hike it every day….love it. (The Collegiate mountains). I might have to try the area you are in…..very beautiful

Im so glad you decided to venture out for a hike! If I’d dine that in the sawtooth area before losing my transmission completely-I would have had one last adventure before having to leave my car behind with a shoddy mechanic who misdiagnosed it. Stuck taking shuttles around town till I can save for another adventure mobile. Never quit but seize the moments!

A marmot usually sticks his head out of that culvert to pose for photos. Boondocked up there three years ago and did the trail to the lake. Wonderful area.

On an older vehicle, I'm more inclined to focus on worn out parts -- the kind that fail intermittently, then completely. Like a fuel pump. My 20 yo SUV quit mid-flight on the way to the shop for diagnosis/repair. Now I've got a decent code reader to help with preliminary decisions. The suggestion to visit a parts store can help in a pinch too, but some code readers also have access to a database of common repairs/solutions.
