Stray Speedrun (1:31:21) - Full Game Walkthrough

This Stray Speedrun Walkthrough shows the full game (including all cutscenes).
The "I am Speed" trophy requires you to beat the game in 2 hours. My time was 1h35min.
Most importantly, restarting checkpoints or dying (hitting "retry" after death) adds to your time! A workaround is to back up your save manually in PS+ Cloud or on USB every few chapters. If you lose a lot of time somewhere you can copy back the save and start replaying from the backup point. There are no difficulty settings, it's the same difficulty for everyone.

Speedruns Tips:
- It's recommended doing the Collectible Run first. Do the Speedrun in your 2nd playthrough.
- Dialogues add to your time. During dialogues smash CIRCLE + SQUARE to skip through them quickly.
- Deaths/Checkpoint Restarts add to your time so avoid this.
- To be safe make a manual save backup in the PS+ Cloud / USB every 1-2 chapters. If you get stuck anywhere for too long you can copy back the save.
- In the Title Screen you can scroll over your save slot to see your current time. See below for recommended times, being 20-25 minutes slower than the below times is acceptable.
- Chapter 11 has a tricky part where you must lock 2 Drones into a storage room. It's easy to die here. Back up your save game when reaching this point. If you are about to die quit the application and reboot the game, or copy back your save.
- Loading Times (Blackscreens) don't add to your time. My final save game time showed 1:31:21 wheras the total video capture was 1:35:00 due to transitions screens between chapters.
- Pausing the game stops the timer. Feel free to pause to take a break. You can also quit out to the main menu at any point to stop the timer and continue later.

Chapter 11 with a tricky part where you must lock 2 Drones is actually easy. Run straight away to the furthest door (2nd door), simultaneously aggro both drones. They will follow you to the room. In the room run towards the 1st door which is closed (you're a cat, you can squeeze through). Then run back in the empty courtyard to the 2nd door to close it.
This is easy and consistent.

A little tip. Because you can pause the game which pauses the clock. If you are following the guide, pausing frequently as you go. And you feel you took a little too long on a certain puzzle or part of a sequence compared to the guide. Pause the game and you can see how long the last checkpoint has been. Quit the game and reload your save file. Your game will start from that last checkpoint giving you another chance at being quicker.

In chapter 10 after meeting clementine, you can go straight to the bar, wake up the drunk robot then run to the clothing store to play the cassette tape then grab the vest. When you come back for the hat store, quickly jump in the box and the drunk robot would then be right in front of the store to carry the box inside. Just a tip to shave a few seconds/minutes off.

For anyone still wondering, yes you can pause the game, it doesn’t add time. Just got the plat first attempt with pausing.

This was my first speedrun ever for any game and definitely my last, I lost soany calories for sweating most of the time 😅

1hr 54mins. I was shaking towards the end, thinking I might not make it and have to redo.
I got a little lost in the slums, finding books, and It was when I started the sewers I checked your video to see how I was doing on time. About 15mins behind.
I don't really do speedruns, I hate the time restriction stress and all the dialog skipping. Sure I've played it already, but I like to pretend I don't know what I'm supposed to do and relive the experience the best I can. I like to just take my time and enjoy the sights as I go. Not have to worry if I get a little lost or get sent back to the check point.

For those asking: you can pause the game and loading screens (black screen with paw prints) don't add time, otherwise, dialogues and cutscenes do.

I’m at 51:16 on video.
My time is like 52:56.
Should be fine for the trophy as it stands.
Update, final time: 1:36:51, I died once during that two drone part in chapter 11.
