Napier's agent has read him the contract. Napier has $26M reasons to not care about the consequences of his decisions. It's exceedingly rare that a fired coach is not immediately re-employed somewhere. He has zero incentive to change and from the time he was hired, he had zero incentive to live up to any of his promises.

We’re going to have to overspend to the tune of 30-40M a year on the portal to keep our roster above water because we won’t have any HS kids to develop in 2026. Oh, but I heard Napier say he spends a few hours a week—on Wednesday and Friday mornings—dealing with the portal. To think this is where we are after three years of Sun Belt Billy, who, after three straight losing seasons, has zero probability of becoming a successful HC in this conference. The bar has gone from conference and national titles to an 11-1 record with a #4 ranking to a couple of SEC East titles to failing to make a bowl game unless we use buyout money to pay players. Awesome.

Go watch the film review every week by The Gator Nation Football Podcast - Napier has been calling the same 9 or 10 plays every game for the last 3 years. We need an air-raid concept guy to completely overhaul the offense and let Lagway ball and there's a less than 0% chance Napier makes that move.

If he gets an OC he's basically admitting that he was the problem on offense and i believe that's why it's taking him so long and that would be a waste of 3 years

What good OC would want to come to this dumpster fire? knowing Billy is on the hot seat. Also, most good OC’s like to bring their line, rb, and wr coaches, BN because of his ego would never hand the reins over to someone else. No new president until mid 2025, we are a mess. Go Gators 🐊

Respectfully, but "play-calling" is the least of Florida Football's concerns today. IMO, "depth" is the real problem on both sides of the ball for UF.

Unfortunately, depth on the Gators' roster will remain a serious problem for UF with an AD & HC that are both presently floundering around in Hogtown.

It's not a matter of Billy hiring an OC at this point...that opportunity has passed. The 'money guys' in the shawdows of UF athletics have made the decision that Billy & pathetic Scott Stricklin are gone following the hiring of a permanent President of UF in early 2025.
