I am going for my first deer here in Fl. Last hunting i did was when I was 15 in Pierce Idaho. If i can't get a deer, coyote and hogs are always in season here in Central Florida. So glad you mentioned other game. I wasn't going to take my predator call, but now i will definitely pack it

Good luck, I just got back from Colorado on a 10 day hunt and we did not see any elk at all. Even the outfitters said it was a bad year.

Good points. We are eager to see hunt & results. We have 2020 elk in the freezer compliments of my daughter for her birthday/graduation present this year. My son & I have harvested 2 doe & 1 nice buck in archery already & Gun season is at hand. Happy hunting all you freedom loving hunters. Praying for safety and success.

Get some good rest, certainly. If you are driving in the morning to go to your hunting site, load as much stuff in your vehicle the night before as possible. So, in the morning, it is just a matter of loading your rifle in there. That beats the heck out of spending another thirty minutes or so of gathering up things you could have already packed. Getting up early in the morning, you are racing the clock to first light. Although, from what I have seen, most deer are harvested in broad day light or even at dusk, not very often at the crack of dawn.
