Belfast Open University awards ceremony celebrates Honorary Graduates Gary Lightbody and Anna Burns

The Open University is renowned for providing flexible and accessible educational opportunities to learners worldwide and has 8,000 students across the island of Ireland. On 9 June this year, over 200 graduates gathered in the Waterfront Hall for the degree ceremony, marking the culmination of years of hard work.

This special event also honoured the remarkable achievements of Gary Lightbody, the lead singer of the internationally acclaimed band Snow Patrol, and Anna Burns, the esteemed author of the award-winning novel, Milkman.
