sir here r limit should vary from -2 to 2

Sir I have a question pls clarify if you can…How we will get to know in which plane we have to take the projection?, as in question of a cylinder(where z limits are given) we can't take projection on xy plane coz its perpendicular to xy plane, ain’t able to understand this..
