This is a pretty weird assessment of the Odin Project. From the outset it's branded as a web development course. It's primary goal is to teach you what you need to build web applications and land a job. It gives you an introduction to computer science concepts later on in the course. Plenty of a foundation to get you started in a junior developer position. If you want to get more in depth into computer science concepts you can do both. CS50 alone definitely won't make you a web developer, so you couldn't do that on its own.

Cs50 is great, but so is the Odin Project, it has you building some pretty complex projects. I think it teaches more for getting a job and building a portfolio, where cs50 gives a solid foundation in computer science. I think if have the time, doing both would be beneficial.

This information is so useful to me. I'm currently following the Odin project and I love it. But I've been looking to outsource for more info and this video has been very helpful. Thank you so much. Subscribed:)

The Ruby and Ruby on Rails path covers object-oriented design, testing, and data structures

TheOdin is perfect for those going for specialization and like I said if it is for specialization then I don't see how cs50 could be better than TOP.

The Odin Project has never been interactive. It's always had its students set up their development environment on their own computers, and they send you off their website for further information and learning. As for web development, the Odin Project is really one of the best. CS50 isn't bad either. They go over Scratch a bit, and then it's C and Python. What you didn't mention is Free Code Camp. That's good for data structures and algorithms in JavaScript. If you do all 3 of these, you will definitely become a better developer, but you will still most likely have no industry experience, so you'll still have a hard time getting that first job. Also, the point is not to remember everything. Even software engineers with a Master's degree in Computer Science who work for big companies don't remember everything and they use Google a lot. I lived with one for 3 years. TOP, CS50, FCC, they will all have you building projects, but I like TOP's approach the most. None are easy though.

I took and completed CS50. It doesn't go in-depth into computer science either. You learned C, python, HTML, CSS, SQL, and a bit of JavaScript. Data structures and algorithms were very basic. I haven't taken Odin so I don't know how in depth Odin's courses are.
