Song Lyrics
--------------------

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme;
Remember me to one who lives there,
For she was once a true love of mine.
Tell her to make me a cambric shirt,
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme;
Without any seam or needlework,
Then she shall be a true love of mine.
Tell her to wash it in yonder well,
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme;
Where never sprung water or rain ever fell,
And she shall be a true lover of mine.
Tell her to dry it on yonder thorn,
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme;
Which never bore blossom since Adam was born,
Then she shall be a true lover of mine.

Female part:

Now he has asked me questions three,
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme;
I hope he'll answer as many for me,
Before he shall be a true lover of mine.
Tell him to buy me an acre of land,
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme;
Between the salt water and the sea sand,
Then he shall be a true lover of mine.
Tell him to plough it with a ram's horn,
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme;
And sow it all over with one peppercorn,
And he shall be a true lover of mine.
Tell him to sheer't with a sickle of leather,
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme;
And bind it up with a peacock's feather,
And he shall be a true lover of mine.
Tell him to thrash it on yonder wall,
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme,
And never let one corn of it fall,
Then he shall be a true lover of mine.
When he has done and finished his work.
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme:
Oh, tell him to come and he'll have his shirt,
And he shall be a true lover of mine.

I'm a seventy year old man and I just can't get over how very good this is. I might be old but I'm still young at heart .I wish all you girls the very best for the future.

I so agree with the 70 year old man's comments. Gives me chills watching this video from a 63 year old man. And I can't speak for the 70 year old.. and thank you sir... But seeing this from a very young generation gives me hope as I don't feel old and thank you kids for what a great rendition of such a classic song. Thank you ❤

I am an 85 year old man from Sri Lanka. (2022) I remember when I used to listen to this song way back in the 70's and this trio of beautiful young girls are dong justice to Simon and Garfunkel. It brings back sweet memories of the 70's

I grew up during the 1960’s in Southern California. This has the feel. Took me back decades in time.

This is the best version I've heard. The vocals are still very young, but very beautiful. The harmonies and drums are fantastic.

It is clearly an English folk-song as Scarborough is in north Yorkshire which i can assure you seeing im from Harrogate
The actual fair at Scarborough was an annual trading fair which lasted for 45 days starting on August 15. It was granted a charter in 1253, and ran until 1788 when competition from other fairs made it untenable.
Traditionally, the herbs in the song have the following associations:
parsley - festivity
sage - wisdom & immortality
rosemary - remembrance
thyme - courage & strength

Never thought anyone can do it as good as Simon & Garfunkle. But these young ladies did it. And all the songs they do. You ladies are blessed...

Young Angel's singing. What a performance! I expect great things out of these three musicians. Can't wait.

I'm 74, and I found just the same. The girls have been taught to control the purity of their voices, and not to spoil it by by excessive tremolo. Lovely. thank you.
