I feel the patreon sponsoring the episode should have a bit more acknowledgement, so thank you Wichu (0:07)!

500 hours in Factorio, a fan of the Master Class, and I'm still learning all sorts of newfangled things. Thanks to you, Nilaus, for this great series!

10:21 - I believe the wrong splitter was belted to bring coal across the tracks at the station.

Loving this series. I'm fairly new and learning so much. Thanks!

To make the bus blueprint work, you gotta turn on "Show combinator settings in alt-mode" in the settings.

Hands down on of the coolest build along series available out there. Thank you Nilaus. What a pleasure to learn to play it right. Great series. Keep it up!

Really enjoy watching you plan your factory layout. Great series and keep up the good work!

you could change to having one radar per two city blocks, still get full coverage and halve your power consumption from radars

Hey Nilaus, I love the series! Thanks. I noticed that your solar power blueprint has a missing accumulator directly behind the north-west big power pole. You can place it in without obstructing the robo port. (At 36:38 you can see that the green area has two square gaps near the north-west robo port where it only has one in each of the other corners.)

Also note that the next-to-bottom steel smelter has a messed-up lane balancer - you forgot to delete one of the undergrounds and replace it with belt. It's the one that looks different from the others. :)

I have a saying, which _really_ helps me when manual-building according to ghosts:
"If it causes more mistakes, then placing things quickly is not faster."
Which is why I always take it a bit slower, to make sure I place everything right the first time.

For the pre-robot stage, you may want to consider a particular mod: Ghost Placer Express. It is my personal fave QoL replacement for robots in the early game, and it operates as follows: once you've placed a blueprint, mousing over a ghost will pull that item from your inventory and place it in the correct orientation. It basically replaces the "mouseover-pipette-place" repetitive loop with "mouseover". The inverse mod is "MouseoverDeconstruct", which deconstructs any entity marked for deconstruction when you mouse over it. Both are by unhott (shout out!).

They aren't as OP as Construction Drones or Nanobots (though using GPE to place turrets in conjunction with the FillMe mod comes close - I try to turn that off before biter hunting if I remember), make blueprints useful in the early game, and dramatically reduce the number of clicks/keypresses for building.

Watching this after I've watched a speed run, and honestly, while I like the way that you build your blueprint for efficiency, I think that you could learn a lot from speed runners as far as making your blueprints quick to layout. In most of those blueprints, the inserters are layed out so that you don't have to rotate them as you place the blueprint. They all face the same direction. Pickup on one side, output on the other, sometime with direct insertion into the next machine.

I like your series a lot. Couldn't hesitate to rush to robots though. Will use them now to clean everything up again. :-)
