Outrage grows after South Korean ferry sinks

Kyung Lah reports on the growing anger after a ferry carrying mostly students sinks, with many missing.

They Obeyed the announcement because they were just student and they were in a semi-formal trip. What had been told to them by senior they considered as an order and discipline. The captain not only wrongly ordered passenger to stay put, he didn't release the life boats either.. He's sick or stupid.

I feel sick after reading some of the comments on articles and videos about this tragedy. Almost 500 people were on the ferry and most of them were high school students like myself. Most of these students are still missing and presumed to be dead. They won't get to graduate, go to college, get a job, fall in love, get married, have kids, see their grandchildren, etc. They had so much life ahead of them.. It's heartbreaking..

Personally I myself wouldn't have followed that order but if you foreigners want to mock our cultural norms over this tragedy, you are just spitting on your face. Have some respect people.

Iam a South Korean. Please .. pray for our kids. They are still waiting for the rescue in the boat full of water.. iam so sad... my kids, dont give up.. The captain didnt claim that passengers should get out of the cruise. He jusy took the boat and got rescued. Speechless... so horrible.

My condolences and thoughts and prayers go out to the grieving families. I feel heartache for the many victims who died on the ferry. I wish that never happened to them. It's tragic.

If one day I have kids, I'll tell them to disobey any order coming from a superior if they know in their hearts that they should disobey. I'll teach them to be able to make decisions and think for themselves at a young age so they won't just follow orders without contesting. This is extremely sad.

The widespeaker actually said the rescue team is coming in a moment, so they'll be safe.
Students trusted that announcement and waited till the rescue team arrive
They didn't know the team would come after their death...

In Canada, when we hear a ship is sinking, you abandoned ship. The captain tells everyone to get to the life boats. The captain here wasn't trained and because of him, many people died. 💔🇰🇷
