Tree Style Tabs: A Better Way To Manage Tabs

Everytime I talk about a web browser someone shills Tree Style Tabs to me so I thought it's about time I actually try it out, effectively what it does is provides a way to group tabs together so that heavy tabs users don't have there bar so cluttered.

all these tabs thingy is just fascinating at first, the only thing we need is to have opera's workspace feature in the mainstream browsers

Thanks for the video. I had no idea these extensiosn existed until now. I kinda prefer Sidebery, though, because it can make actual groups for tabs, which makes a whole lot more sense to me. Though I think they both have pros and cons over each other.

I tried Floorp after CTTs video on it and I *really* want the TST thing to work, especially with the "optimized top bar", but the markup generated by the extension along with its default, un-removable, styling is just too much spaghetti to sit through. It just looks horrible when collapsed.

Just nesting your tabs into groups is definitely not the main reason why this was made.. it was made so that when you open new links in a window, they open as children of that tab, etc. etc. so you can see your whole journey and then close the whole branch when you are done with that. Additionally, then if you wanted to group things together (ex. as a session related to a project, etc.) then you can do that as well.

Of course everyone's use-case/style is different, but I just wanted to point this out since your whole video you were just making completely new tabs and manually organizing them.

How to disable completely parenting/collapsing functionality? I am getting mad when my tabs are hiding.

The concept is very good. I will recommend Sidebery over it though. It's much more performant, has better & clearer settings, less bugs (from my experience) and is generally a pleasure to use. It is also open source, by the way.

One big thing you can do to make it that much better is bind an extra button on your mouse if you have a gaming mouse, to Ctrl+W. This is 'close tab' and it does wonders for the workflow.
