When Kurt and Dave Grohl early on in Sydney Australia I saw them in a like antiques / seconds store here on Glebe Point Rd. I think Sliver was the only release by then here but In America they just became massive. No internet 1993 I was with a friend in the store maybe 3 mins! One thing I had to squeeze past Kurt and I said "excuse me mate" (in Aussie accent) he smiled looked in my eyes said "go through" like a slight chuckle at our accents. He seemed happy I remember him always smiling. He was smaller then what you see on tv. I dont really remember Dave but he was there with a older woman. Great memory a great man.

Kurt had a lot of practice throwing shit at people. When Kurt was a little kid, he played little league and his team got to go watch the Seattle Mariners practice. Little Kurt and a friend of his hid somewhere and he was throwing balls at the players on the field.

Fun fact. “Teen spirit” was the name of a girls deodorant, and after he hooked up with a girl one time she took her lipstick and wrote “Kurt Cobain smells like teen spirit” on the mirror since hers rubbed off on him. That’s where he got the name. Or so I’ve been told.

The story behind Kurt Cobain and Axel Rose beef is WILD. Rose was a fan of Nirvana and actually wanted them to go on tour with them. But Kurt hated Axel Rose and guns and roses because 1) he thought they were nothing more than vapid industry fronts and 2) Axel Rose was racist, homophobic and sexist and Kurt was a very big ally to each community. Obviously Kurt said “fuck no” to the offer. Axel was in his feelings and said nirvana would rather “shoot up heroin with their hoes than go on tour with us” Kurt fired back and called Axel rose out on his bigotry and said you couldn’t be his fan if you supported someone like that. Apparently at the MTV music awards they had to be restrained from fighting one another.
