I love the idea of the TFT 2-display screen although Yamaha isn't using it to its full advantage. It would make more sense to integrate map navigation/smartphone display on the right side of the screen allowing for more customization of screen display making it a touring gorgeous beast. It's still an awesome bike nonetheless.

That dash looks like WALL-E from that Pixar movie

Great video Motobob. Looking forward to a test ride in March, own a 2018 Tracer GT and like the look and spec of the new GT, but with all the upgrades suspect price to be around £13k, not sure I can justify that kind of expense especially if we got a repeat of 2020 in 21

This looks like the perfect sport tourer, for me anyway. I actually like the dash and the aggressive front end. The rear side panels look unfinished but I likely wouldn’t take the bags off anyway. I’ve just sold my scrambler for a bike with hard bags and I think the silver GT will do nicely.

I like it. The dash looks like a jet fighter and all it offers is exactly what I want in a motorcycle.

Not gonna lie, the 9 looks really nice. The clocks too.

The tracer 9 looks hot (to me at least)! I don't like the present TFT for Tracer 900 and much more preffer the old double LCD dash it had before. So this change with two separate TFT displays is something I've been waiting for. It kinda makes me think that this could actually be my dream bike...

I really love the look of this new bike especially the R1 inspired lights.

the Yamaha looks a much better prospect than the Triumph and will no doubt be better value and 25 extra BHP!!

Looks cracking but what is it with motorcycle manufacturers and the one main beam headlight and other high beam separate, just keep them both on with high and low functions, just looks silly and like you have a light out. Otherwise great looking bike but that would put me off that daft main beam, just like they did with the current R1.

Thank god the MT tragedy didn’t effect the tracer family!🙏🙏🙏

Looks much better than initially. Hopefully a maintance free chain to be added once BMW releases it to other brands.

Would consider over the Tiger 900 if it has a significant price advantage

Nice practical changes on the Tracer9 - I think Yamaha know what they are doing making the MT more modern and this more useable. Looking forward to the XSR! 🤞

Last year test rode a tracer 900 at yamaha ride days and i was surprised how well they ride, very comfortable and fast. It doesn’t feel heavy either.

Terrific spec review as usual Bob. I do appreciate the detail and your understanding of that detail, something lacking from too many YouTube reviews. Be interesting to see your road test if and when.

Until very recently I had the existing Tracer 900GT, a superb bike, but the new one trumps it in several respects such as the full quickshifter - previously up only - and the better panniers that can now take an FF helmet which the existing ones cannot. Also the improved screen, this was a weak point on the old model and nearly everyone changed it for an MRA Vario etc. but it remains to be seen just how effective the new screen is. The lower seat height is very welcome. The old one even on the lowest setting was just a bit too high for me so 810mm lowest on the new one sounds right for me.

I like the new dash. I liked the old one too but the new split screen looks even nicer to me. Add in the cornering ABS, the lighter weight, the redesigned lighting, the higher torque at lower rpm, the new frame etc. and it looks like a great package with very significant and worthwhile improvements over what was already a great bike.

Closest rival is probably the Tiger 900 GTP, the top road oriented model in the Triumph Tiger range. It's a great bike, I've ridden one, but having owned a Tiger 800 XRT and a Tracer 900GT, I'd say the Yam engine is superior and has the edge. The T9 engine is a little rougher than the old T8. However both the Tiger9 and the Tracer 900GT are outstandingly good bikes and you couldn't really go wrong with either if you want this style of machine. Despite appearances, the Tracers are 100% road bikes with no concession to dirt, whereas the Tigers do have some claimed dirt ability, superfluous if like me you never hit dirt.

Great video! I like the updates except for the split TFT, just doesn’t work for me. Hey Yamaha, see BMW and Kawasaki, they’ve got the TFT right! Keep it simple, don’t over think it!

it would be better use triple engine for a Tenere with shaft drive and 19 inch front wheel. That will smash the competition.
