(psssst... I've purchased so many expensive scissors throughout my life and these ones are both my favorite and the cheapest)
(I use plastic head pins during videos so you guys can see what I'm using... but I don't love them. ^THESE are what I use religiously and whenever I am not filming.)

I hadn't sewn in years, but I decided to sew this shorts for my girlfriend's birthday this summer. After two and a half exhausting days, I'm proud to say that I've almost finished these shorts.

This was my second ever project today. It was insane. But totally worth it! The instructions are easy to follow! My skills grew today!

$9 seems a steep cost when compared to patterns from designers that include lengthen / shorten lines for hem and front / back rise, notches for button loop placement, and more clear instructions i.e. 'with right sides together', better differentiating pattern pieces not just calling it top or bottom piece. The instructions included in the PDF are hard to follow and are incomplete compared with this video, and this video tutorial assumes a fair amount of skill / knowledge in the sewer. I have made many pairs of pants and shorts, and was able to make these shorts because I know the general steps. If I were a beginner, I would have found this challenging to follow. That being said, I enjoy the shorts and am pleased with how they turned out after pattern hacking in several areas. 3/5 stars overall.

Just finished these. I widened the dart take in to accommodate the width difference between my hips and waist. I've never had shorts that fit both my hips and my waist before! Thank you for helping me make my dream of high waisted shorts come true ❤️
