The JD story being friends since childhood tells quite a story about.Elvis .I am sure he took care of JD real fine once he was the king .The Nashville story is a circumstantial event involving his old friend but Elvis being extremely respectful of the Grand Ole Opry and it’s old traditions and its forefathers did not want to come back to Nashville because there was a sentiment of disdain when he performed in 1954 .19 years old and way ahead of his time .What a wonderful vengeance to come back 21 years later as the king and stupefy everyone from the oldest singing venue in America.He of course never performed there again.He never accepted the insult that he should go back to driving a truck.
