Citric acid may make the sugar cool slower but also, without it you would barely be able to taste the flavor no matter how much flavoring you put in. So that bit where they say now it tastes great is a lie, it's just scented sugar.

The only reason some Americans eat alot of sugar is because sugar is in everything sometimes even meat and the there is also natural sugar
