After nearly a six month delay, British Airways has finally taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner during uncertain times.

The first British Airways 787-10, registered G-ZBLA, departed Boeing’s South Charleston factory on the night of June 27 and arrived at London Heathrow on June 28 at 11:49 AM.

British Airways was supposed to take delivery of its first 787-10 in January 2020, however, this was delayed several times into May and June.

British Airways’ 787-10 is expected to be used on its London Heathrow to Atlanta and Seattle routes from August 1, 2020. However, this may change.

The 787-10 features 8 First Class, 48 of the new Club Suites, 35 Premium Economy, and 165 Economy Class seats for a total of 256 seats.

British Airways has 11 more 787-10s on order, with the second one, G-ZBLB, set to be delivered on July 1.

The 787-10 complements British Airways’ existing fleet of 12 787-8s and 18 787-9s.

The airline is now the ninth operator of the 787-10 and the third airline to operate all three Boeing 787 variants after All Nippon Airways and United Airlines
