10 FC25 Career Mode Features I'd Love To See

It’s no secret that the first trailer and preorder info for FC25 is probably coming out in the next week, so it seems like a good time to look at 10 features that would make career mode much better. Deep down I think we’d be happy if even one of these were added to career mode, but lets have a look at some of the FIFA communities most wanted features.

I’d love for them to actually put the effort and love into career mode like they did back in the day.. before they started milking kids through ultimate team..

I think a good addition would be "transfer logic", such as small clubs preferring to sign players from their nationality or the basque rule for Bilbao, avoiding having teams like wolves offering 100m for a player, small details like these would contribute a lot to realism

Here are some other ideas:
1. Overall dropping if the player is underperforming
2. Real youth academies (real u17, u19, or even just u23 teams) so there won't be all regens in like 5 years time
3. Managers transferring and AI able to change their schemes
4. 15 players in the bench just like in real life instead of seven.

Here are some of mine

1. The ability to play multiple positions in player career mode. Ex. Cm can play Cam or Cdm
2. More players on the bench
3. If youth academies for Ai does come out then a feature were you can buy their academy players
4. Tournament history tab where you can see the current and past winners of the tournament
5. A feature where you can save multiple game sliders so if the game gets to easy or hard you don’t have to manually change it every time

I wanna be able to see a players career stats, a bit like in FM, I should also be able to see the top scorers and assisters in EVERY LEAGUE, this wouldn’t even be a difficult thing to add to the game

The ability to add a player to the coaching staff after they retire

1. Bring back the pre match presentation
2. Have a more detailed stat section for every player like 2k, where you can see past stats and more than just g/a
3. The ability to turn off the board and make the goals sensible
4. More player customization (player editor is right there, why can’t we edit players?)
5. More than 15 seasons
6. More league customization (what if I want the premier league to end in a playoff? etc.)
7. Better world building (I like reading the news stories but it could be made so much better)
8. Better press conferences and player convos and add locker room speeches
9. Try to utilize AI (not saying using it to cut corners, but imagine using an AI that can respond to live gameplay to generate individualized commentary for every match, or custom articles and news from an engine that responds to what’s happening in the game. There’s so much more.)
10. Revamp youth development (U18 team, more detailed scouting reports like 2k, ability to look at other teams youth teams and potentially lure players away)


These people are just so lazy!!!! If I played the game for a couple hours I’d be able to list 10 more. It’s so fun inherently that I literally play through the broken aspects because the core experience is so rewarding.

I would want to see you being able to promote players from the youth academy, and then demote them again. For example if you don’t have any fit wingers you can promote a winger from your YA to play one or two games but not stay the whole season and lose potential

I hope they will add the longer intro cutscenes back and add more cutscenes for training, in the manager office, for new signings/negotiations and more. It feels so wrong not seeing the players walk onto the pitch especially in Champions League games. And halftime cutscenes with the players leaving the pitch, going to the dressing room and come back onto the pitch (even efootball shows how the players walk back onto the field)

Would love the option to loan a player for 1, 5 season. Now it's only for 0, 5 / 1 / 2 seasons.

Another thing is to 'offer' a player to a club of my liking. This way, you could have a team in a lower league, which develops multiple prospects.

I think it would be cool that at half time, if you are losing, your manager can walk in and give a speech to inspire players' morale, but there can also be the option some of them talk back, which then you can respond. This would all be done just like the interviews, choosing one of the three options.

One thing I want is to create our own development style rather than using the target man development template for a striker you can edit it so you can pick which attributes to develop

I would love to see an owner or director mode

I would want to add already retired players or icons/heroes in the game, as well as restart the career of some players

Suggestion: Improved Player Career Mode Negotiation

In Manager mode, when you negotiate with a player, you can set specific things like a release clause, sell on bonus, wage, etc. in PCM, the only thing relating to this is requesting a wage for target clubs. I think that the negotiation system in Manager mode should also transfer to player career mode. It would make it more realistic, allowing you to demand wages and release clauses like a real player.

I think National team career should be able to stand on it's own, with features to create a team out of players from different clubs (team bonding activites etc.) and being able to scout or watch games to determine who to call up

There are so many simple upgrades to Career Mode that would make it realistic and fun, I’ve definitely got a top 3:

1. Assigning a Club and Vice Captain in the Squad Hub: If the club captain starts a game he gets the captaincy, if subbed and the vice captain is on the pitch it should default to the vice captain! Also, if you substitute on your captain or vice captain, then the captaincy should be given to them mid game! I hate it when I’m a final and I need to make a sub or my captain has been injured and the captaincy is given to a random player 😂

2. Having more Stadium customisation, such as Tifo and banners for specific players. There’s no rhyme and reason to any of the Tifos or banners of players shown and sometimes I want to highlight my favourite player that I think the fans love (prime example being Tiago Cukur in my Salford series, my audience loved him and he was our captain and I’ve never seen a Tifo of him in any stadium 😂)

3. Manager Transfers: I find it incredibly frustrating that when in a manager career mode you can only apply for select clubs at a time. Why are you not able to apply/move to ANY club in the game mid career mode similar to how you chose your initial club at the start! If I’m doing a Journey Man style career mode and I started at Sporting Lisbon, had ten seasons at other clubs and wanted to return to Sporting Lisbon it’s basically dumb luck whether they will appear in the Browse Jobs tab at a later date.

Honestly, those 3 simple things would make career mode 10x more enjoyable for me! And now I make content it would both enrich both my gameplay experience and content creation massively!

Player rating never goes down unless the player is getting really old. I think if a young player has a bad season for his rating, then he should go down.
