This is like the definitive guide to build a DnD tavern! So detailed, about every small thing! Like, you can start from scratch, have absolutely nothing and make yourself a perfect tavern by the end of this video. Love it.

The painting of the rocks-- layers really can make something look realistic!! Amazing detail and patience.

Lovely paint work on the stones. I like the careful, patient layering of washes compared to some other crafters who do messy stippling or overbrushing. Your patience shows in the finished product.

I making my first diorama ever.. it´s a LED tree made with wire covered with cold porcelain and placed over a little hill.. im working on it and listening to your video, it kind of cheers me up, like being in a workshop with a partner . Thank for all your tips, really helpful to us beginners. Best wishes from México

the hearth is the area at the base of the fireplace, the mantle is the shelf over the fireplace, and wood is not unheard of for mantles

I feel like adding some magnets to certain parts would be a cool way to secure the modular parts.

amazing build!
For the wood beams, i find that mixing paint in water and just dropping the pieces in and drying them out is a pretty effective (and less messy!) way of getting that weathered look for the wood

23:28 when fireplaces were first implemented into the houses they often had wooden parts, especially when chimneys came about, fires were quite frequent. its just a case of early design and not knowing any better, id say its pretty accurate this way

Never done this before but I had do give it a shot!

Anyone who bought crappy styrofoam and glue like me (no good hobby stores near us), I put toothpicks in the walls/joints to help strengthen the glue bonds. Our styrofoam was a little warped too, so this helped keep everything in place and kept it in shape. I filled the holes with glue as well to make sure they stay put, glue hasn't even dried yet but the walls are study and holding up just fine.

The proportions of this build lay somewhere between cute, cartoony and classic fantasy. It's absolutely perfect.

I started one last year and still have a little painting to do and a little wood working to do also but 95% done. Thank you getting me fired up about crafting again. After I watched all of your videos on this tavern, I went to town on it. I even cut all of the wood from a 2x4 and put red oak hardwood floors in it. I made a few changes to the interior but other than that it was a major project and I commend you my friend. Thank you. Keep on crafting.

I adore medieval taverns, especially the atmosphere like a fireplace, pork roasts, wandering bards, atmosphere

I have not watched your other videos yet, but a good trick to paint little items is to use doublestick tape to hold them down. Can't wait to finish this series, it looks soooo good!

I really enjoyed this. My friends and I were just discussing building some hyper-realistic buildings and other map pieces for our 5th ed game. This was a great breakdown of a simple floor plan to get me started on my first attempt. Thanks!

Awesome work! I'm building my own 28mm fantasy-medieval village and a lot of your techniques will help me improve! Thanks for the great work.
