There should be a law to stop insane people with dogs in markets

Good job. Yes, service dog are held to high standards, and their training needs to continue even after they graduate. ❤❤❤

Did y’all know it costs $45, 000 to train and raise ONE service dog😭🙏🏼but the organization my family raises the dogs for gives the service dogs to clients with disabilities for free.

Part of my dogs job is a alert for allergines, i pick up items for him to sniff and make sure dont have something i cant eat in it. If it has an allergine present, i put it back on the shelf
The dog sniffing nearby items isnt harming anyone, its a dog being a dog, and is the same as saying you walking by is runing items. Your not in contact, thats not what the ADA or any service dog law discussing property damage is refering too.
Its when they engage in a way thats going to damage the product. Such as pressing their wet nose into an item, which caused the print on the packaging to warp. Thats is a minor form. A greater form is grabbing a item in their mouth and biting down, breaking the packaging. In both cases, your not expected to leave. Your expected to buy the item, refusal to do so is when your at fault and can be removed.
Youve causes the business to loose a sale due to a unsellable product, thus causing harm.
Thats what the ADA means here.

People exist in public spaces too. They grab things, touch them, pick them up and carry them aeound then decide to put it back. Kids do the same, sometimes with unhygienic hands.

This is why it is the public responsibility to wash items or rinse them before consumption, use, or wear. Its also why service dogs are allowed in public, they are expected to cause no greater harm to the environment then the general public

Thats why your service dog has to be potty trained, and why both toddlers and dogs can be removed for the kid screaming/ the dog barking (it causes a disturbance).
And why everyone ignores kids picking items up to look at them, and should be fine if a dog wants to sniff around to learn more about where they are rn.
This is also why if you buy what your service dog damages, you cant be kicked out. It follows the logic of how some people will buy cookies, and eat one from the box while shopping. They plan to buy the item, so they consume it/part of it now. Then go on to buy the item, and eat the rest at home.
Its not common, but it happens, and people dont get kicked out for it, because its not harming anyone.
Service dogs are no different.

This can be your personal standard, if thats how youd like your dog to behave, fair enough
Its not what the ada means, its not a standard that can work for all teams, and shouldnt be applied broadly (cause narrowing behavior like this to make any dog sniffing in public bad/against the law, does cause discrimination for other disabled people.)

My dog has slipped up like that before but he is perfect with everything else. He's half Beagle so it is in his breed to want to smell things. 🙄 Was difficult to get him over it but we worked through it. ❤

Hmm, ok i get that under normal circumstances, sd's shouldn't be sniffing shelves, just out of consideration, but the ada states nothing about that being grounds to kick you out, also, what if a service dog's task is to bring the handler something off the shelf? Or smell a product for allergens?

I’m with irs or whatever it’s called it’s a support thing that’s hard to get into I think they can help with getting a service dog since I don’t have 15-30+k to spend on one.

I love that your video has a golden. I have a 22 month old golden retriever that i am training as an autism spectrum disorder/ Asperger’s syndrome service dog. Yes it does happen service dogs do make mistakes. I am really glad that you included that training needs to continue. I am owner training my golden retriever. Right now, I am trying to transition her back into public access training since I do not have the funds to get her back in a training program. My golden retriever has been public access trained since she was 16 weeks old. $13, 000 is the common price for a service dog. I was lucky enough to get my service dog at $2500 dollars. Training never stops. My golden retriever is the first service dog that I have ever trained on my own. Good luck with the training!

I’m sending my service dog in training somewhere since I’m unable to train them rn (I’m currently moving) but I’m still super young (still a minor-) so I’m watching service dog videos to know what’s good and bad (i also payed 300$ for a service dog training to do it myself which I’m using to learn and know when she’s ready and freshen her up)

I don't think touching alone would be grounds for removal. Obviously, if the dog is licking or mouthing it, and wouldn't stop with correction, yeah. But touching with the muzzle thus not a legal reason to ask for the dog to be removed, since it's not out of control.

He accidentally touches them:
Me going to the store later and gets the apples unknowingly:
I eat the apples: hmmm this apple taste like a thousands of bucks and a bit of fur
(This is meant to be a joke no one attack me😭)

"Contaminated"??? What do we call all the horrors committed by children on that same merchandise? Treating dogs like they are so especially dirty is absurdly ignorant. Run an IR camera in the back of that store and you won't believe how many rats are present. You dog might have literally been nose to nose with a rat you never knew was there.
