I recently rediscovered this song after more than 10 years since first hearing when my friend used it in a skate video we made of ourselves as teenagers. I always enjoyed the song in the context of the skate vid but never heard it elsewhere, & then heard it on NTS Radios breakfast show last week. I was amazed at the outstanding beauty of the track hearing it in a new light. It came across as such a happy uplifting song & filled me with near euphoric nostalgia for the time when I was in my midteens, exploring the world on skateboards with my friends for the first times & having experiences I'll be grateful for forever. I knew instantly that Id be listening to & enjoying this song regularly for the rest of my life, not only for it's musical brilliance but also for what it reminds me of.

I heard today that Andrew Weatherall has left the building (REST IN POWER), I was saddened to hear the news as for about 5 years now Ive enjoyed his DJ sets on NTS among other bits of his work Ive stumbled upon, but I never knew how rich his career was until I read the article today. I LOVED Screamadelica as a 16 year old and still enjoy it now and on top of that Andrew Weatherall was behind this song as well (the original Smokebelch II is also a new personal favourite as a result). So having not realised this, I felt compelled to leave a comment giving my thanks to him, and end up being 'that guy' who posts soppy personal stuff in YT comments. Thank you Andrew for giving me lots of enjoyment in the past (even when I was unaware you were behind it), this song will now remind of your brilliant self as well as the personal feelings. And I shall now delve properly into listening to more and more of your work

Beautiful ambient classic takes me back to my 1990's days of traveling from Bristol to Birmingham for gigs at Bob and Magda's Oscillate club. RIP Andrew Weatherall.

Never forget hearing the David Holmes mix for the first time me and my mates caned it🤖it seemed so far ahead back then and when you listen to it now it's so simple but killer still packs dancefloors if the DJ is smart enough to fit it in keep on keeping on weatherman🤘

A fitting track for sunset today, but one, long ago, I was more accustomed to hearing at the dawn.
