Merch compliments of VIncent Wang:

For anyone TL;DR:

I didn’t go to college because I had terrible grades in high school.

The reason I had terrible grades was because I preferred working and making money over doing home work.

I didn’t get in to college because of that.

I pursued real estate as a real estate agent to be a short term option to gain work experience.

I ended up REALLY liking the career - sticking with it - and eventually giving it another year.

After that, I decided not to go to school - and instead, work full time in real estate, as a real estate agent, and then eventually to investing in real estate, as well.

Oh…and grab some merch :)

Education is critical. It just doesn't need to have a degree.

Two friends of mine dropped out of School. They both make over 6 figures now, less than 2 years later. But at the same time, I also know almost a dozen folks from that same School that dropped out and didn't manage to make anything of it. There is a big difference between "𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘺, 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘸𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯" and dropping out so you can play Red Dead Redemption 2 on weekdays.

I'm in the minority here. Initially I dropped out of college and got a job doing data entry 8 hours per day. That

I was too dang immature to go to college yet alone start a business. After I couldn't take cubicle life anymore I joined the Army National Guard, went to college and graduated with a finance degree (with a blazing 3.2 GPA).

I'm thankful for the experience and needed it to grow up.

But that doesn't mean I'll encourage my kids go to college. I'll leave that up to them to decide what's best for their future.

Thanks for sharing your story!

My Computer Science degree cost only $14K. Making $100k and graduated 6 months ago. Just get a useful degree and don't go to an expensive school!

I’m a teacher - I also have a masters degree. I always tell my students never go to college unless they are sure they want a job that absolutely requires the degree. I also encourage them not to have a career that requires college and beyond that i tell them to go to the cheapest community whatever college bc the degrees are all the same everywhere. I’m one of the few fortunate to have gotten a job in exactly what I went to school for but overall I regret it all. Now i’m a 10- year indentured servant at $860/mo paying it all back. Not to mention the problems in the education system are sickening. My recommendation is only go to school for something essential/highly beneficial to yourself and always community/state school. And LIVE OFF CAMPUS room and board fees are a scam!! Not to mention they treat you worse than in high school!! College is primarily a means for kids to extend high school a little longer and avert real responsibilities

My son is 11 and I want to start introducing him to financial education. Would you be willing to do a simple basic video for an audience of that age group? Because, as you know, they don't teach this in school. That would be gold!!!!

If you see college as a place to be stuck in classes all day, then I couldn't agree with you more. Biggest waste of time unless you're pursuing one of the careers you mentioned (doctor, lawyer, engineer, etc.). Too many business students have the mindset where you go to classes, get your piece of paper, and leave. Complete waste of time.

On the other hand, if you use it to connect with professors and peers, get mentorship, put yourself in leadership roles, and use your abundance of free time to work on projects that interest you outside of class while being able to leverage the opportunities that come with being a college student, it can be extremely helpful. I met some amazing mentors and started two companies while pursuing my B.S. in entrepreneurship and innovation. I'm finishing up now and have a six figure offer lined up in a role I'm really excited about (innovation strategy in my favorite industry). And yes, I'll be saving that money to invest and be FI early.

You could drop your coaching calls business and start a business calling schools to excuse kids’ absences.

Why is it that whenever someone looks back at why Science class was pointless, they always remember that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell?

As of now, I dropped out of college. I'm living at a friends house because my parents very much dislike (to put it lightly) the idea of me not getting a degree.
I consider myself pretty smart, I got a 25 on the ACT junior year without even studying. But my grades didnt really reflect that. I barely got into a nice college and ended up going for only 3 semesters. My heart was never really in it and I questioned myself every day. Like you said, everyone pressured me to go into college even though I felt like it wasnt for me.
When you said you felt almost like a failure, my eyes watered up. Whenever I think about the situation I'm in, I cant help but feel like a failure. But this video proves that there are other people who overcame these problems and that I'm not alone.
Long story short, I wanted to get into real estate but kept getting told it was a bad idea. If I commit myself to it, with the work ethic I have theres no doubt in my mind I can do it.

Thanks for the video Graham, you inspire not only me but alot of other people as well.
Also, disliked and unsubbed.

For me it was due to depression as why I kept missing school. Turns out I'm just burned out and wanted to chill for once.
