Sorry Todd. Instead of looking at the text you chose to elaborate on your version.

>First: "Sons of God" translates as "Bene Elohim" which means specifically angels - not demons...One has to ignore the text to endorse the Line of Seth vs Line of Cain version.

*It's debatable that this act is what led to them being called demons. Nevertheless, in numerous Jewish antiquities-including Enoch- this is the act that earned these angels and their offspring their designation of demons

>Second: When you say angels cannot inhabit a corporeal state then explain why they eat food in several of their appearances in scripture - cherry picking corporeal instances.

>Third: Since Bene Elohim is used in scripture barely a handful of times and refers each time to Angels - eg. Jude v. 6 Job 1.6 & 2.1, Psalm 89.6, we have to honor the text for what it states and not expound with flawed human logic in a direction we can more fathom and explain away rather than accept as written. People should be given the opportunity to accept the text for what it says and not our cushioned digression.

In sum, I'm surprised Todd did not utilize the textual exegesis to educate people and allow them the opportunity to study further. I have great respect for Pastor Todd Wagner. I disagree with his explanation on Genesis 6.

Blessings

Very well put Todd. People have to get out of their carnal understanding and allow the spirit of God to guide their understanding.

if they were the descendants of Seth, then why didn’t the Bible just say “Sons of Seth” instead of “Sons of God”? Especially since everywhere else in the Bible the phrase “Sons of God” refers specifically to angels? And why would the offspring be referred to as “Nephilim”? And how the heck could the seed of men produce a race of giants anyway? Too many oddities in my opinion to simply explain it away as other people…

Jesus said "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels IN HEAVEN." The angels in heaven do not marry, but did we forget these angel left theyre proper domain? I think the bible is very clear that these were angelic beings who disobeyed God and followed theyre lust after the daughters of men and their offspring were the giants. Mighty men of renown. Its where men like King Og of bashan, or the king of the amorites who was said to be as tall as a cedar tree in Amos, and Goliath and his brothers who sons of giants came about. Its one of the reasons Joshua was to wipe out most of tribes in Cannon. Aside from all that the book of Enoch which is quoted in the book of Jude tells you point blank the son of god were Angels, and that demons are not fallen angels but the unembodied spirits of the nephilim destroyed in the Flood.

You mention Jude 6 but left out Jude 7 which is a clarification of Jude 6

Jude 6-7 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Ve3res 7 quantifies verse 6. The point of verse 7 is showing that ANGELS committed fornication and went after strange flesh

What you just did was DECEPTIVE I will not follow or study from a person that is so deceptive as that and will warn others to stay away from you

I read the comments after watching, and they said exactly what I wanted, I respect and enjoy listening to your input. However, if it was Descendants of Seth mixing with descendants of Cain, why were they giants?

(The original word was gigantes, which can be translated as earth bound, or terrestrial. It was translated in some version as Giants.)

And I think it's important to understand this (kind of) because it clarifies some of the "Attrocities"(mass genocide) committed by God. However, I also dont think it's a point that's worth creating dissension between brothers and sisters in Christ.
Blessing Todd Wagoner.

Sorry I totally disagree gen.6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them,
Learn to read your bible, peoples.

You're making A LOT of assumptions. Here are two examples:

1) Just because angels in Heaven don't marry, doesn't mean they don't have sex. This is especially problematic when dealing with fallen angels.2) Angels, and even God, have been shown to have had corporeal bodies in other verses. Israel wrestled with God. The mob in Sodom who tried to have sex with the Angels visiting Lot. God being HEARD walking in Eden.

There's also a question of why Nephilim are then seemingly separated as a new race. By your logic, if mixing righteous and non-righteous couples is the answer, then the majority of the planet is now Nephilim. And, not sure if you've looked around, but most of us aren't men of renown....

Jude 6 and 7 a person needs to keep the verses in context for it to make sense.

6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;
Verse 6 is talking about the rebellious angels who transgressed against God in Heaven, not on the Earth. The verse is totally about the celestial body and in the heavens. These angels are in everlasting chain. These angels did not even roam the earth like Satan.

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Verse 7 is talking about people of Sodom and Gomorrah along with surrounding cities. The surrounding cities had the similar manner of going after strange flesh like Sodom and Gomorrah. People will take the "similar manner" and apply it to these angels in verse 6, when the TEXT CLEARLY says the similar manner is the cities around them. The other cities were Admah, Zeboim and Bela (Zoar). These five cities, also known as the "cities of the plain". The cities of Admah, Zeboim and Bela (Zoar) were the similar manner like Sodom and Gomorrah with going after strange flesh, NOT angels. Lot and his two daughters escaped to a region by Bela (Zoar). Verse 6 is about the terrestrial body or relating to the earth.

The two verses are about the celestial (heavenly) and the terrestrial (earthly). Do Not combine the two verses with "going after strange flesh", that is NOT what Jude is talking about. The two verses (Jude 6 and 7) are about the consequences of sinning and transgression against God.

The angels in verse 6 are in chains awaiting judgement, which will be when God casting them into the Lake of Fire. With Sodom and Gomorrah God poured down judgement with Fire. The consequences are God's judgement with fire.

What man has done with these verses is IGNORE God's Judgment of Fire. God is totally Removed and Ignored. The two verses are about transgression against God in Heaven, that is what the rebellious angels did. What the people of Sodom and Gomarah did is transgress against God with sexual perversion. Both Judgements have to do with Fire.

When reading beginning of Jude, Jude is writing about apostasy. Jude uses THREE different in incidents in the Bible.

Verse 5 is about the captivity of Israel in Egypt. God commanded for Egypt to let Israel go, but Egypt would not OBEY God, so God sent plague after plague to the Egyptians. How it ended up is Egypt would finally let Israel go, but when the nation Israel was let go, Egypt chased the nation of Israel. When Israel arrived to the Red sea, Moses parted the sea with God's super natural power so Israel would cross safely. Israel made it safely across, but the Egyptians tried crossing the sea gave in and all the Egyptians drowned. The point is that Disobedience leads to Destruction. Jude is referencing Exodus 7-11, Exodus 12 is about the pass over and tenth plague, Exodus 14 is the crossing of the Red sea.

Verse 6 is about the angels that rebelled in Heaven against God and His throne. The angels were in disobedience when they chose to rebel with Lucifer. Lucifer's rebellion along with the angels that joined him in this rebellion, God chose to REJECT them. God put these angels in and kept in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day.
Jude is referencing Isaiah 14:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:12-18. Also a reference to use i Revelation 12:4: "His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth."

God NEVER gave these rebellious and fallen angels a 2nd opportunity to rebel and sin against God. They forsook their dwelling and being in God’s Holy Presence in Heaven, so God placed them “in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day.” Never says they were on the earth. Only Satan was on the earth.

The point is that Rebellion leads to Rejection.

Verse 7 is about Sodom and Gomorrah. God warned those cities that He will rain down fire and brimstone if those cities did not change their evil and perverted ways. The people chose to disobey.
Again the point is that Disobedience leads to Destruction and Rebellion leads to Rejection.

All three of these incidents went against God's authority so God took action.

God instituted marriage with man and woman. Woman came from man, so marriage is fitting in God's creative order for marriage. God NEVER instituted marriage between angels and women. Angels are NOT in God's institution of marriage. Angels Never presented burnt offerings to God.

To catch a foul whiff of the Nephilim, one only needs to flick on the television. This is one of the primary reasons I gave up all television - cold turkey - ages ago. Television is guttersnipe filth.

I am sorry Mr Wagner, but your answer was very convoluted and ended in a non-sequiter. You did finally say you think the Sons of God were the human men from the line of Seth, but your statements before that didn't seem to lead to that conclusion. Also, your interpretation of certain passages was simply wrong...

You quoted Jesus in saying that the angels in Heaven do not marry, and this is true, but you seem to have immediately forgotten the previous verse you mentioned that said the "Angels that left their first estate" (habitation). In other words, these angels left the heavenly realm and came down to Earth. They were no longer angels in heaven, they were fallen angels on Earth. Do we know for certain that did not change things?

You said Angels are only spirit, but you again seem to have forgotten about the time that angels appeared to Abraham in the form of men (story of Lot in Genesis). The scriptures seem to indicate that angels can transform themselves; be it from and minister of wickedness to angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:15), or from an angelic spirit form to that of a flesh human. Also, if you believe that Satan appeared to Eve in the form of a literal snake (which I do not believe is the case) then that is another example of spirit beings ability to transform.

You also somewhat misinformed regarding the term "Sons of God" and implied it is used for both humans and angels. This is not the case in the Old Testament. Only Adam and the angels are named Sons of God in the Old Testament. This is because Sons of God are direct creations of God, thus only Adam qualified in the OT because he was the only male direct creation of God, as were the Angels. In the New Testament this changes, and those who are "born again" in Jesus Christ are considered new creations and receive the name Sons of God, but this was not true in the Old Testament.

I am not saying your conclusion is wrong, I am still working through it and have many questions. However, if you are going to answer a question I think you should do it more directly and with more honest interpretations of scripture.

Also how do you explain the thousands of giant skeletons that have been found all over the earth.
These beings had elongated skulls and often 6 digits on their hands and feet. Also their skulls are missing one of the suture lines which distinguishes them as Nephilim.

I would suggest that everyone read "The Unseen Realm" by Dr. Michael Heiser. In it, Dr Heiser gives a very detailed explanation of who the Nephilm were without deviating from the account's original context.

Demons and angels are the not same beings. Demons are the spirits of the dead nephilim.

Read the book of Enoch.. It explains in detail about the fallen angels.. When you get done with Enoch read the book of Jasher.. so many details that were hidden from me my whole life because I was not seeking the Lord with all my heart and also none of my pastors even mentioned to me that they exist.. The account of Abraham in Jasher brought me to tears along with many other details.. My faith has really been strengthened after reading these books.. Jesus paid the price we could not pay.. repent of your sins and follow Jesus now.. we are living in the last days and time is running out.. love ya
