Check the old vids of Jordan in Iran -- it's like he's a Beatle over there.

yea sure it's November 2020 so just keep working out WITHOUT pay 8 hrs a day 6 days a week for the next 3 yrs for the 2024 Olympic trials. Even if you had $ 10 million in the bank to live off of it's incredibly difficult to maintain the Olympic level mindset. I live at a 90% competitive mindset > up at 4:30 daily, quik excercise, bricklayer forman but then Macdonalds drive thru, coffee and donuts, and NO I'm going to excercise triple sessions a day in middle age. To get to 99% competitive mindset you NEVER eat an ounce of junk food, you NEVER skip one of the mandatory 3x per day workouts. To get to the 100% competitive mindset that wins Olympic gold is something of us cannot even comprehend.

Once athletes start talk retirement it usually ends horribly.

I don't think Burroughs has the speed he had before shattering his ankle. I know he missed a lot of training and then lost to Dake after pummeling the guy for a full decade. Watching him scramble all over Dake year after year knowing that Dake was an awesome folkstyle prodigy was sad! I hope Burroughs retires at the top of his game but I think Nolf will eventually beat Dake and Burroughs if given enough time.
