I’m extremely amazed about how little Americans, Europeans, Australians, etc, know about the spiritual world. As a Latina, born and raised in the evangelical world and now converted to the Catholic faith, I can tell that witchcraft is very real. The host seems to not understand that regular law system doesn’t work against this type of situation, and many times they are part of that same evil behind the doors.

I agree with your final point. Christianity is not a pacifist religion. There is a time to take up the sword and the very obvious time to do so is when a young woman is being abused in the way described here.

This hits close to home for me. As, in my youth, I was intrigued by what I read of Voudou. How their Gods, “Loa, ” or “Lwa, ” were likened to Catholic Saints. For instance, their Eshualegbara (Papa Legba/Legba) is likened to Saint Peter. As Saint Peter holds the keys to Heaven, so their Legba is the “keeper of the crossroads, ” between worlds.

So foolish was I, that I followed the instructions of a Bokor. Which is essentially a rouge practitioner, who does not follow the Religiosity of Voudou. I followed his instructions and performed a “crossroads, ” ritual.
Needless to say, my life took many awful turns, afterward. So bad, were these turns, that O found myself PHYSICALLY wrestling with things, that my eyes could not see. Whatever it was, had an intimate knowledge what what frightened me. Things that I shared with NO ONE.
Such things continued, until l fell to my knees, and begged our Lord for mercy, and the aid of Saint Michael. It immediately stopped, and never returned. For THAT, I belong 100% to our Lord (not that I had any choice in the matter).

I love the absolute human moment where he poses the same question I’ve asked myself many times regarding taking matters into my own hands. I also AM LEARNING to accept the answer that was given. It’s not easy though.

My ancestors were french haitians, but my family lived in Venezuela for 4 generations until I had to leave. Witchcraft is something that creeps in society because people turn into themselves and their whims, be it lust, greed, thirst for power, people will resort to the occult for quick fixes and even "protection". Venezuela is very sick spiritually speaking, babalawo and palerismo is everywhere, I've experience it myself, you can feel the principalities acting all aroind you, be it demonic or angelic, it's very obvious. I'm actually GRATEFUL that an exgirlfriend put a hex on me, it allowed me to see the spirit world is areal thing, I gradually turned back to Christ and was baptised 6 years ago. All Glory to God ☦️

I have heard about a woman who practiced witchcraft, so her neighbor started praying the St. Michael prayer every day facing her house. Within a few months the woman stopped doing witchcraft and was converted too.

According to my grandfather, his baby brother (who died when he was a few months old) got mysteriously ill with an illness that doctors could not explain - according to grandpa, his body just started "drying up" and nothing could be done. There was in our village a woman who was rumoured to be a witch and who apparently laughed at the situation and threatened to do the same with my grandpa, who was just 2 years old at the time. After he started getting ill as well, his dad (my great-grandpa) picked up a sickle from the farm and physically threatened her. My grandpa started improving immediately.
To this day, he says his brother (who was his only sibling) is his heavenly protector. RIP Uncle Leonel, in the end God won you over Satan.

This story broke my heart. I don’t know what firearms permitting in Haiti is like, but I was a firearms instructor. Sounds like this girl is already formidable in Christ. I would be happy to help teach her to be formidable in Glock too.

I grew up in Southwest Florida. Voodoo is very prevalent, especially when growing up, very dark stuff and scary. Violence is not rare. Pray for this girl.

I struggle with the desire to become a "hand of God, " for lack of a better term. I struggle with wanting to be a physical warrior for the Lord - to bring, as Matt put it, "the Bible AND the sword." But I know we have to be very careful, because violence wrapped in the cloak of spirituality can awaken in the heart wrath and zealotry. We might start out by taking out evildoers, but it can be twisted - look at those members within the Muslim religion, for example, who carry their word and if you don't accept it you get the sword. I have to fight the temptation to be a physical fighter and instead be a spiritual fighter, to be strong in prayer. Our true enemy is the devil.
