huh. red ones are usually pretty sweet. granted, i live in indonesia, so the climate difference and closeness to farm probably factors.

my favorite way to eat dragonfruit is actually in a smoothie/smoothie bowl! specifically pitaya smoothie. bananas and dragonfruit, milk or yogurt, maybe pineapple and/or mango if you have some on hand, top with granola and/or berries. makes for excellent hot day treat.

I’ve had two dragonfruit in my life. The first time, I would describe the taste as….a gray watermelon. It tasted like wet dust. The second time, it tasted sweet and refreshing! I suppose…that there seems to be a bit of variety when it comes to dragonfruit flavor.

My parents grow white dragonfruit in their backyard. I honestly don't know how or what we did to grow them as good as they are, but they are super sweet and one of my favorite fruits. Also they produce really pretty flowers that only bloom at night.
