looks really good! my main constructive criticism is:

1. i really wish there were keys you had to collect across the level that opens the last straight fly gate like in the original level. not only does it stay truer to the original that way, but it’s also a really cool gimmick that would set it apart from other levels gameplay wise

2. maybe add more glow on the structures and spikes especially. it looks a bit empty as is

overall this still looks really good as is, probably epic worthy imo. but if you add a few more touch ups, this could easily become legendary worthy

Those backrounds are so good, it just looks like a simulation of the interstellar black hole in CGI.
