I love putting saffron in my rice, chicken and soups. It's got a unique flavor that's actually great in many things, just hard to part with a few strands considering its cost and how hard it is to find at most grocery stores. I hope to keep seeing it.

I have a tiny box with real saffron that my friend brought me back from Asia, where he worked for 5 years. It was very inexpensive there compared to that bought in China Town in Toronto. Such a tiny amount of saffron for so many dollars! I treasure my tiny box of the best ingredient to my oriental cooking. My friend benefits from his kindness regularly. Saffron rice is just the beginning! 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦

I’ve always kept some saffron, I loved the flavor and one of those to certain dishes. This year I lost my brother, I inherited his cookbooks, call mom, kitchen, utensils, and pots and pans, and his spices. His refrigerator he had a Messenger with containers of saffron. Some of them he purchased on his international trips. Now my concern is that they will lose their bouquet if I do not use them. And I all, but one is still sealed, I know one of them was purchased I believe in France.

In many places this flower will grow, grows in the desert where it's farmed and says zones 5-8 but people here in Florida can grow it too. You can buy the bulbs easily online

We used to play with these flowers as kids
They were so plentiful in our community we didn’t even know their use other than playing with them and destroying them..and now this video is trying to make me regret it😂

My grandmother grew this in Germany. Those babies are still growing. The color and flavor just isnt as intense. Still works in cakes.
