Great tips! I’ve been working for Roto-Rooter since September and took my first day off ever today to go to the union and apply, I always talked down on union workers but I think the set hours and free schooling I would get is an amazing opportunity, I’ll be studying and watching your videos a lot in the meantime!

As a retired Chief Building Inspector from SoCal It was great to hear you recommend learning the Plumbing Code. Learning your trade and the Code will put you head and shoulders above those who do not bother. And life will be easier dealing with Building and Safety Inspectors in your area. There is no reason for an adversarial relationship when both are trying to give the consumer a safe and durable product. Thanks for the Vid.

I’ve been working as an apprentice for about 2 months now and your channel is an awesome resource, well done! The equipment I wish existed is a cable machine that tells you how much cable is currently out of the drum, especially cases in which you don’t want to run into a septic tank, I think this would be super helpful.

I hope Noah Kwet checks sees this video. This is exactly what he needs and, frankly Roger, it's exactly the video I've wanted you to make for a while. Knowing specifically what you study to make yourself better.

Not Old School, but had tools thrown at me for making mistakes. New tools I use is 1. Phone for Info. And documentation of work & money bill-receipt. What I think would help the industry huge is Plumbing License. My question is, " You got a hunting license, a driver's license, why not a Plumbing License. Hire a Professional."

I agree with the video except one part. You should definitely know the product, but don't be afraid to call tech support. When I service a tankless the first thing I do is call tech support. Most of the time I can figure out the repair fairly quickly, but by calling tech support it takes the liability off you and puts it on the manufacturer also it keeps a service record for the unit. Overall another solid video.

Another great vid man. It’s insane the number of ways that people are coming up with for different problems. Always new tools. Always new products. Got to stay on the edge of what is new to stay the best in the game. Incredible plumbing world we are living in.

Thank you so much for posting these videos! It can be an intimidating field to get into for somebody who was not taught by a parent or something.

Hey Roger, first year apprentice here. I try and study on down time, like many I have a hard time reading and retaining knowledge. I’m a hands on/visual learner. I spend a lot of time listening to your videos. I think a new generation of plumbers could really benefit from an application based study guide as opposed to the $150 code books. I would love to hear your opinion on this. Side note, would love to apprentice at your company.
