Having a home gym is great and you can add to it over the years

Classic, direct, common sense....everyone needs a dad, uncle, trusted pal that can advise them in this manner - KISS right? Follow this guy and then customize as you want. TY for sharing!!

I hit the deal of a lifetime a few weeks ago. 570lb of plates, 3 curl bars and a 7' bar for $400 at a moving sale! I already had some plates but needed a lot more and lucked up.
Only problem is the bar is from Academy, I think, that is to say fairly cheap and one bearing is frozen, but I already had a bar and needed a junk bar for the occasional rack pull and super-heavy shrugs anyway, so I took it as part of the deal.

FB Marketplace can be a gift and a curse; it was a gift for me this round.

Facebook market place is where it's at for used gear and weights too!! I also had no idea they made smaller plates than 45lbs. I always thought those things were door stops and coasters for my drinks. Nice Rogue fitness ad BTW

Hilarious. 07:33 is Alan Thrall and his MUCH hated Titan rack. He went out and got an EliteFTS instead.

For serious bodybuilding and powerlifting a commercial gym is the best. It's also difficult to find room and slam weights around at home. A home gym is very different but great for martial arts and calisthenics. I do live home workouts on my channel.

You can also make a very serviceable power rack out of wood and hardware if you aren't yet lifting 600+ lbs and are a little handy.

This reminds me of Baz Lurhmann’s wear sunscreen 👍🏻

Used plates can be corroded and weigh less and less over time, you can get good bars for under 300

@8:52 "In my opinion the best racks are made from C-Channel" Why would C-Channel be better than square tubing?

"New iron and old iron weighs the same" 😂

For anyone looking to start during covid, Vulcan has cast iron plates sometimes when rogue doesn’t. They are the exact same product but slightly cheaper (cost not quality), they even have a 5% military discount if you’ve been through the mill like me. Speaking of military discounts, the US has fully transitioned to the ACFT fitness testing which means all Nation Guard and reserve centers have 60lbs hex bars, and around 1000 lbs of pristine rogue bumper plates in their supply cages.

I’m not telling you to steal, but the full time soldiers are usually gone by 3 pm on weekdays.

Happy hunting

Are incline presses not necessary anymore? I am getting back into lifting after 20 years away from it or more.
