Every year I shoot Hoyt and Mathews bows cause my friend is a Mathews fanatic, and I’ve always preferred Hoyt. I prefer the carbon cause I value lower weight, but the Axius Alpha shoots the same. The reason I prefer Hoyt is the max draw weight is slightly earlier in the draw than the Mathews. I find Hoyt easier to draw at identical draw weights. When its cold an muscles re stiff from being hunched up in a tree stand I appreciate that easier draw. Both bows will shoot a tight group or kill a deer so this one difference cinches it for me. Thanks for the review

I have an Axius and this review is accurate. Went and test shot all of them. Being from WI, I assumed I was going to walk home with the Mathews VXR but the Hoyt just felt way more solid of a bow/better quality although they were very similar to shoot; it is an amazing bow. If you purchase I would suggest getting the rear stabilizer added. The first time I shot without one I was frustrated and not hitting tight groups. My 2nd time shooting it I had fist sized groups up to 40 yards with the rear stabilizer; it really helps if you tend to torque the bow to keep the sight level.

I got into compound bows about 6months ago and bow fishing. I've only bought cheap bows the pistol grip junxing the spot on hawk and topoint t1. I'm looking for a new bow a brand name like good quality and ive narrowed it down to bear or diamond. I have never shot a hoyt or pse but I've heard good things

Of the bow brands you guys test, which is the easiest to tune and work on for someone at home without a bow press? Currently shooting a Bear Status EKO.
