Calcite and Smooth Basalt with Spruce are my favorite building blocks for my base. For added flare, I use Amethyst for the floor but cover it with carpet in whatever color best fits the decor. It still rings through the carpet when you walk on it.

In case you didn't know, you don't need to have a name tag, you can just use an anvil to name the spawn egg and the zombie will spawn with that name.

(This may only work for bedrock, idk)

you can place down the water and then use bonemeal to get another water source block
I'm bad at describing it but in case it will help in future videos
Place 2 whole blocks
surround them by more full blocks
at one end place another block on top of the already placed block (basically a 2 by 1 pond with one edge being 2 high instead of just one)
Put your water there and let it flow down
use your bonemeal on the spot where the water flows to create seagrass
The seagrass will make it a source block
relocate water and either repeat or make a normal infinite water source

A tip for preserving zombies is that you don't need a name tag. A zombie holding a block or item won't despawn either, so chuck a block of dirt to it and it will stay! (Though not all zombies can pick up an item, so a name tag was likely the best bet here)

just to let you know, that whole contraption with water to send blocks to the hopper from the source because hoppers can't pull items through blocks, yes it works
But an easier solution would be to use a hopper minecart. Yes 5 more iron, but they can pull items through full solid blocks. so you could just have one of those under the source and then normal hoppers
