In this tutorial, we have discussed how to float an object on water or any fluid using the Ocean Modifier in Blender. In our previous video (linked below) we have discussed how to float an object with Fluid Simulation. Here, we are using a different technique to float objects with Ocean Modifier. We have also discussed how to make the object drift away along with the ocean waves. Please watch the video for the complete tutorial. Vety well explained... One thing i want ask is that sometime water come above the torus which looks sinking so maybe to correct those frames we can do manual work like baking simulation on plane and then manually adjust it.

Beautiful, just so beautiful. I've made this channel my everyday must watch blender guide since i started working with blender. I love when you said 'the more you experiment with something the more you discover' it speaks to me. Thank you so much.

This video helped so much for an extra detail in my school project. Thank you so much!

Beautiful and easy to follow. Thank you! If I add a second floating object, is t there an easy way to have them bump into each other (rather than pass through)?

Hello. This is a very clear and easy to understand tutorial, and it works very well for a single floating object; but if I want to have several objects keeping their positions relative to each other, when I apply "copy location" it modifies their original position placing all the objects in the center. How can I correct this situation?

Brilliant 👍 such simple steps in creating something amazing! 😃

Thanks for this very clear tutorial!
For those who find the constraints have no effect: make sure the weight of the vertices assigned to the group (in this case all the vertices of the guiding plane) is set to 1 - otherwise the constraints will will not influence the target, and the torus wil not follow the movement of the guiding plane.

Question. Wouldn't it be the same if I applied a shrinkwrap constraint to the object?

Thanks for the Tutorial! One question:
I what that my Object is coming from up from below the surface to the top. How can I do that?

Thank you very much for delivering such great content using simple, quick, and easy to follow demonstrations. I baked and exported the plane animation to use in another application, but it appears that the shrink modifier registers only movement in the X axis by keeping the object's origin at the same height and rotation (0, 0, 0). Same with the torus' movement. Is there any way to register the rotation and Y Axis movement of the guiding plane towards the animation so that wavy movement can be exported? I really appreciate your content and teaching approach.

What do I do if my boat is moving with the waves, but is half sunken?

Again another terrific and accessible tutorial! . One question, my torus has a kind of nervous jitter to it as it moves over the waves, is there anything I can do to smooth that out? Thank you.

Great videos, I find them really easy to follow.
Can you make a tutorial with tips for quicker modelling? I just started working on gun models for my game, so it would be helpful if I could be a little bit faster with it.
