The smell is definitely something you can't describe until you smell it, and even then there's not really anything one specific to compare it too. It's always a mix and really depends on how they died to.

As someone who is around a lot of dead things, I live near a forest with a river in it that I visit often and find loads of dead stuff. I'm not sure how to describe how they smell and obviously these aren't people corpses they are like turtle, frog, lizard, skink, etc so they may smell different but the best way I can describe it is sewer stink 😅
