2 years ago I started having intense pain in my left knee. Went to the doctor, he asked a couple of questions, squeezed my knee then told me I had to have surgery. I ignored him, started Keto and intermittent fasting. After losing about 15 pounds, from 315 to 300 my knees have never felt better, no need for surgery!! I've set a goal to lose 50 lbs by summer, I'm now at 285, and I turn 60 in May. Feeling great!! Thank you, thank you!!

3:40 'Mitochondria half life is 1-2 weeks. It takes 4-5 half lives to recycle with fully refreshed mitochondria, which is about 5-9 weeks for fat adaptation. Research shows that after 1.5 years, fat adaptation is still increasing. 7:24 Keto adaptation is the next level

When first started keto with a 36 hour fast ( I had never fasted this long before) my blood glucose dropped to 50! My spouse thought I was going to die. It I felt great. So alert and energetic. Ketones were high. Now a year and a half later my BG is stable never dropping below 74 and my ketones are pretty stable as well reading .05 to .07 . I was severely insulin resistant.

That mitochondrial level explanation was really good. Thanks brother

I have been living a ketogenic lifestyle for over a year now and it has been the best decision. I used to be anemic, had migraines all the time, and was always tired. I don't even get migraines anymore and my energy levels are through the roof. The thing that really gets me going is that my hair looks better too! Hyper

Your reference to your son’s clean eating piqued my interest. For new parents, or soon to be, it would be awesome if you made a videos pointing us in the right direction for infant -> child nutrition - or at least the approach you’ve taken with your family. It can be overwhelming as first time parents. Much love, thanks Thomas.

Very interesting! I’ve not heard it explained like this before. Makes a lot of sense. I’m going to have to watch this 2 more times to get that idea sunk in.

Thank you for this video. Not enough experts are talking about what metabolically happens when you have been eating very low carb for years. I have been keto for 5 years and high fat carnivore for the past year. My ketones range between 0.2-0.7. My insulin is less than 5 and my A1C remains in the low 5s. I’m continuing to lean out and have loads of energy. My fasted BG is higher than others eating this way but I have chronic pain which keeps my cortisol and so BG higher.

Thank you Thomas! Now I learned that these terms are misused really often.
"Fat adaptation is fuel utilisation.
Keto adaptation is the adaptation to utilizing ketones as signal divices and higher levels of energy."
...
"Keto adaptation is where your body has seen ketons in the blood for so long that it knows how to react on them. Because they are not just a fuel, they are a signaling device (...) means when the brain recognizes the ketones they can bounce a signale off of them to trigger different metabolic things. (...) Basically it unlocks more of your genes for you. It unlocks more of your genetic code so you can rebuild tissue so you can have more stem cells."
This is so to the point and really motivating.

I like how Thomas is super nerdy with all of the physiological information. It shows that he really knows what he is talking about. Much love and appreciation for the knowledge and care, Thomas! And you’re not bad to look at either 😉

Thomas, I've been listening to your videos as much as possible and they have literally improved my overall health in the shortest time that I ever could have imagined. I have gone from a typical 'Inflammatory' diet to a more 'bad food' avoidance diet and in the span of under two weeks I have significantly reduced my severe insomnia and weight. I've also greatly increased my energy both physically and mentally. Thank You!

Thanks so much for that definition. I was getting very confused.

Thank you for the explanation! This has been really helpful. Really inspired me to become keto adapted 💪 It's been a month and hubby and I have only lost about 4 lbs each but I do feel more energized than ever before, we will exercise more on this month as you said in another video to do.. Maybe we will see a weight drop here but so far I am pleased not craving sugars anymore 💪💪 I never thought that would have been possible 😅 and here I am now happy about it 😃😃

This was a GREAT presentation. Not too slow and not overly technical or complicated. Just my speed :)

I'm only a month in after failing a couple years ago and there seems to be a lot more information available now. I'm certain I'm in it for good this time. I 'get it' more.

Thanks for your videos Thomas. Always insightful, and just when I think I've learned everything and get bored watching videos going over the same things, I learn something new. 💯

I am a huge fan of the *HyperKeto program* .. I've been on it for about two months now and I can see great results. I'm not saying this just to earn a commission - I truly believe the content is high quality and the diet has been well adapted to my lifestyle. I can't do without it now! I've been on a diet for about two weeks and I can see the difference. It's not that I eat less, but that the food I eat is tailored to my needs. The program is designed in such a way that it helps me plan what to eat without sounding like something is out of reach. It also helped me keep track of my meals.
