I purchased a woodland shoe in 2015 used it vigorously for 5 years all it did to the shoe was that the pasting of the sole came off. Then I eventually decided to give it to a poor man who had no shoes after repairing it still looked new. It was not just the design it was also the quality and sturdyness of the shoe

My friend used to work in woodland. He told me- the owner would buy expensive shoes from foreign countries and copy the sole as it is. They will redesign the part above the sole.

This is how the Chinese copied Western brands - when Nike had a vendor manufacture 1 million pairs of sneakers, the vendor would make 3 million pairs, slightly change the logo on 2 million of them and sell them in Asia, including in India. Low business ethics abound

Don't know much about timberland..since they are expensive in Indian
As an Indian I want quality to price ratio to be good & I think woodland is doing a good job in that area...
No offence to the original product but for a price sensitive nation like India good quality at an affordable price is major factor for Indian customers...
