The term meme has evolved to be defined as an internet funny when really at its core, it's meant to represent an idea. That explains why some are meant to be funny and others not.

I personally hate most Relatable memes nowadays cause their more depressing and self loathing, like you said, memes are meant to be funny and bring some level of enjoyment, those topics the relatable memes don't bring any if those

It feels even worse when you find ones you actually can relate to because you'd feel ashamed too if you related to someone who peaked in their fucking Teen years, and in their teen years they couldn't even Socialize, at least according to them

Looking at those "in my 20s" memes really made me start pushing to be a better me. My 20s have been figuring out I have epilepsy and if im eligible for surgery. Its been rough im not able to go out much due to having seizures. So i do what i can and enjoy what i can. Im 23 and I'm getting closer to having them figured out. I was at harborview in Seattle last month and saw a guy take a sh!t on EMS drop off out my window. That was funny to say the least. Ive been working on myself to get through having at least one seizure a month. I look back after my knee surgery when my seizures started becoming uncontrolled. I weighed 380 pounds after recovery and being able to walk again. A few days ago i was 275. Im 6'4 im very proud of myself. Im bumbed out about my vehicles and not being able to work on them. I guess what im saying if you truly try you can improve yourself. Ive been having at least one seizure a month and have been improving where i can. Things will get better for you too

I've come to realize these kinda memes remind me of millenial humor, "This trashbag is me", "adulting is so hard", "dying inside". Not trying to sound high and mighty, its just that these edgy and self-depricating memes don't do it for me anymore.

Self-depricating humor is good for coping with stress and it's nice to relate with others having the same struggle. But too many people are just wallowing in it.

the art of making a meme should be taken seriously. there is work that goes into making the funny image and making the funny 5 second video, and the maker of them also has to be funny. cringe memes and 'relatable' memes should not be forgiven.

Dear ibz, i am a man suffering with a chronic fuel drinking addiction, i cannot contain my urges to drink gallons upon gallons of various different, energy producing substances, this is a real issue.
Going outside wont solve my problems (my car has no gas) and all my friends and family wont come to my house to socialize in fear that i will consume all of their combustion liquids.

I'd like to complain about coomer humor for a moment. They understand the setup of a joke, but there's no joke, it's just porn. So instead of being funny like a real joke it's just "haha look at how porn-sick I am haha"

My favorite part of this is counter meme culture. For example a while ago people just started cropped porn to try to be funny. Then a week after people replied to this by saying “OMG cropped porn!!! You get it?? The joke is that it’s porn! Isn’t it just so funny?” As a counter. Memes breed memes after all.
