I just read Henry Kissinger’s biography. He made millions after leaving office in 1980 giving CEOs access to important people all over the world. If you are rich but don’t have connections, you hire someone who has connections but isn’t rich.

Love that these guys are still grounded in reality. This is grrat advice for young people, and it is totally true. Access is based on relational transactions not monetary ones. I am not rich, I do well, but I am connected. Very blessed to have great friends and in turn I try to give them access where I am able.

Money solves the capitalistic issues of our society. Once you make it then the next focus is working on yourself. Being healthy both in body and soul, learn to be adventurous and wise, get smarter and contribute to society in a way that matters.

Once you start to hang out with others who are rich or wealthy, you start to try to keep up with them. It is a neverending and stressful battle that becomes an obsession. You don't need a fleet of cars, a mansion, a yacht, designer clothing, or even a private jet. Let necessity drive that rather than desire.

Knowing one or two other rich people that you can go to for advice that only that perspective can provide is good, but keep your mind grounded.

Of course. It’s called power. Money is important but it’s only half the equation. Relationships and power can sometimes even trump money or at least equate to it. Money can easily be enough for a lot of people though. It just depends on your ambitions.
