Thanks for the follow up video. It's awesome seeing you stand walls and hang trusses by yourself, but these little projects are fun too. I like how you pulled out a chainsaw instead of a smaller motor, or even a chisel, ha. Essential craftsman is a solid channel to watch as well. Cheers!

'...so I'm going to notch it' and a sudden chainsaw appears. Thanks for the video!

I would have the steps resting on a couple of patio slab. Keeps the wood out of the dirt. However, you still deserve the beer. Good job.

I really like those little tags on the ends of the boards. You should buy extra ones.

Nice steps, but can they open a beer?

SO years ago, I worked on stage crews in London's West End. On the biggest show I ever worked, an opera, there was a crew of set-builders who'd worked round the clock for weeks to get the set up and ready on time. When these guys assembled anything out of timber, it was usually 3/4" ply cladding 2x2 framing, so everything was held together with 2" #8 screws.
The screws went in - the whole way - with a hammer! No screw guns back then, and these guys were working as fast as they could. When a screw came back out, the guys used Stanley Yankee pump screwdrivers. From then on, any time I was using screws in softwood, I'd tack them in or drive them the whole way with a hammer. Ugly, but when you're in a hurry, it works.

Just curious. What's holding the front of the stairs up?

Funny you mentioned Essential Craftsman. I discovered your channel through a YouTube suggestion while watching some of his videos. You guys are both great!

I don't know why that made me laugh 😂 "the overhang is In the way so I'm gonna notch it" *me expecting you to pull out a nice little flush cut saw* then you pull out a chainsaw 😂

Your are a awesome craftsman, but I question if the steps will not root quicker because you installed them directly on parts of the grass?! Thanks for your answer.

Thank you for this. At first I was disoriented by the camera. It looked like everything was warped & I started to get motion sickness, but when it was more still it was easier to watch. I managed to focus enough to watch and I'm glad I did. You are very skilled with the saws and getting everything lined up so quickly. This is the first video of yours that I've seen. What was the size of that deck? Now I need to find where you do the railing. Do you have a link to that one? The hammering the screws in a bit to get them set is a great trick I'll have to try.
I need to build a 5'x4' landing (I thought 4'x4' would work but using 3d planning tools showed it would be waay too small).

I didn't see that chainsaw on your toolbelt video. I guess it can't open a beer.😁

you should make a review video on the tools you own, and use for framing. Would be very helpful
