Watch the actual evaluation for this guy is being either 1 of these:

1: his zap radius actually being bigger but also the closer the troops to him, the more reflect damage he'll deal to them

2: when troops are within his radius, they constantly get zapped whether they're hitting him or not

3: he no longer needs to be close to the troops to reflect their damage, basically his radius being the whole arena
