Improve Braking Performance. If you're looking for a way to improve the braking capacity of your Mustang, swapping out the factory pads with a set of performance Hawk Brake Pads should be the first thing you do. Hawk offers a myriad of different pad uses and options, ranging from OE-style replacement pads that work well for spirited street driving to specialized compounds intended for track use only.
OE-Style Ceramic. Hawk's entry level aftermarket brake pad is a ceramic pad designed to provide mild improvements over the OEM pad. The ceramics series from Hawk will deliver a slightly stronger bite than stock and have better fade resistance. Hawk Ceramic series brake pads do not need to be heated up to deliver strong performance, and they are designed to produce a minimal amount of brake dust as well. The Hawk ceramic series pads are ideal for daily driven Mustangs that may occasionally take part in a spirited track day.
HPS Series . The Hawk HPS Series brake pad is perhaps one of their most popular series, being an excellent blend of street and strip performance. HPS pads are composed of a ferro-carbon compound that will provide 20-40% more stopping power over stock and are significantly less susceptible to fade. Due to this more aggressive compound, the HPS series works best when warm (but this does not mean brake quality is affected when cold) and will produce a little more noise and dust than stock. These pads are ideal for daily driven and weekend warrior Mustangs alike.
HP Plus Series. The Hawk HP Plus pads are Hawk's choice for track going Mustangs where repeated heavy braking is the norm. HP Plus pads use a more aggressive, high friction ferro-carbon compound as compared to the HPS pads, which translates to an extremely powerful bite. However, due to the aggressive nature of the compound, these pads do need to be hot to work their best. Noise and dust will be more prominent versus the other two series.
Direct-Fit Install. Installing a set of Hawk brake pads on your Mustang is no different than fitting any other brake pad. They are constructed to be a direct physical replacement for the factory pads and can be swapped out using basic hand tools. Each corner will take about 20 minutes.

On the HPS pep boys never used the grease so I’m hoping no squeaks. If so I’ll take it back. And have them do them.
