Understanding what's driving coronavirus mutations | COVID-19 Special

New mutations have seen the virus spread like wildfire in parts of the world. Over a year after the virus was first reported, there are now a large number of strains. Some, like the variants detected in the UK and South Africa, seem to be spreading much faster. Each new infection opens the door to unknown variants which threaten to undo the progress that has been made in the fight against the pandemic. The big question is: will the existing vaccines still work?

If I was a nurse working in ICU with Covid19 patients, I’d be scared to death of getting it and taking it home to my family. The doctors and nurses are some Brave human beings and they are saving people’s lives every single day! I Salute every single one of them!!! They have my upmost Respect!!!♥️

I love how they keep a smile on their face while saying that basically we're doomed.

We don’t know.
We don’t really know.
We don’t yet know.
We still don’t know.

If any one thinks that 2020 is gone and all is well will be very disappointed.

The best thing to do now with that "i don't know " is...don't let the guard down. Avoid the cold, avoid having any flu symptoms. Social distancing...

this reminds me about that pandemic game where virus gets genetic talent points for a number of infections, and those point were put into more infection rate in this case.

In the case of bacteria, every time man tries to control it with antibiotics is another chance the bacteria can mutate - rendering yet another antibiotic ineffective. I wonder if this mechanism applies to viruses as well.

People at these college parties and other larger gatherings just make this worse. This issue is, for everyone 1 person who is doing the right thing, there is 1 person doing the wrong thing.

"You know, we don't really know" 8:23 That pretty much sums it up. If you want to save twelve minutes of your life and move on.

How about putting yourself together and get in shape.
Build up your immune system.
Stay active, eat a little healthier and get some sun if you can.
I'd be more worried about that then over a vaccine.
Vaccine takes years to make,
this one took months.

“I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.”
