Top tip! Avoid touristy spots and go to restaurants where locals eat, it won’t be a tourist trap and usually is really good. And you support some of the smaller businesses!

Italian here, I live two hours rom Florence and I go there quite often but I never go to Antico Vinaio, I praise you for your patience on that line. I doubt the line in Rome is any shorter.

Boy, did they see the tourist coming 😂. Lived in Rome for six months. You will find some great bakeries down the tiny back streets .... Fresh bread, ham and cheese sandwich equivalent of $4. Go to the small family run restaurants and not the ones in the squares or just off them My apartment was above one. The food will be fresh and home cooked And half the price.

Italian food is always top tier🇮🇹✨ And the prices are still kinda there in between: not cheap not expensive.
Even if travel abroad I still miss my food and I always say: I can’t wait to come back come and eat a real pizza, real focaccia, real pasta, fresh bread etc

As an Italian, I hope you will return!And if u return, you have to try the maritozzi(a Rome's speciality).Maritozzo is like a fluffy and sweet panino, filled with whipped cream!!!I advise you to try the maritozzi at the Bar Farnese(📍Via dei Baullari, Rome), with hot cappuccino!

Die Restaurants um Rom herum sind zum Teil besser als im Citycenter, die Portionen größer und was wichtig ist, ein paar Euro billiger. Eine kleine Taxi- oder Busfahrt oder ein kleiner Spaziergang lohnen sich da wirklich.
