I remember once seeing this image of a guy spending his whole life working & saving money then in the last image he's holding 2 large bags of money & walking in a cemetary when the Grim Reaper says "Sorry sir, you can't take that with you." Money is important to help you get through life, but it shouldn't be the most important thing in life for you since if that's all you focus on everything else will go by without you appreciating it.

I'm not religious and I wasn't raised with any either- but I definitely feel the spiritual value of Steve Harvey's books and videos. I don't have to believe there's a Devil to open my eyes to the toxic attitude in my family and "friends", but it sure makes it easier to recognize that a bigger force is at play, and hanging around won't change them. I can't "explain" them into respecting or supporting me. I can't "do onto others" them into being nice to me AFTER I've been respectful and supportive of them.

Now, I just pray for the support I want- work on that gift, find joy in my gift, and let that higher power do the rest. And for once in my life, that support is coming to me! Steve Harvey isn't just a feel-good motivator, he's real about the actions anyone can do to to get whatever they seek.

We had a janitor that ate kippered snacks & saltines at lunch daily. He wore his uniform and boots daily. For 5 years he was ridiculed & mistreated by other employees. But he went on to open his own business, bought a beautiful house & when he came to resign his janitor job...he drove up in a Mercedes Benz!!

My mother is the #1 negative force in my life at the moment. She never ceases to bring up the past and horrible things that happened a long time ago. She is unable to let anything go, EVER. One thing she is very good at is making you feel bad about yourself. She is the master of misery and negativity. I try to keep her at a length but it's been hard. I literally do not want to be around her anymore. I hope here in the near future when things take a big turn in my life that I will be able to distance from her as I need to.

It took me 39 years to learn to let go. I thought if I tried to help everyone around me we would prosper together. Hanging on to familiarity will have you stagnated.
