explanation: The men in the cars were called by the man in glasses who was just arrested (walter) as backup but he later called them off after he realised his brother in law was there. he called them to kill jesse (the young man with a scruffy beard) walter wanted them to leave but they didn't, they killed both DEA agents including walters brother in law and stole all of walts money

After this, they indeed dropped their weapons and nobody died. They all lived the foreseeable future in prison and Jesse was a free man.

Season 1 Wanted to cook meth with one of his highschool students

Season 2 was cooking meth and meeted another meth seller by a guy who knows guy then other meth seller gets killed by his brother in law

Season 3 meet a multi millionaire in the meth business then had beef with him and stopped working with him

Season 4 his beef with the multi millionaire intensified so he killed him with a homemade bomb

Season 5 his brother in law who was a DEA agent was on his tail of crime and his highschool student friend betrayed him so walt sent bounty hunters after him and his brother in law got in the way of the bounty hunters so they killed him and they took his highschool student instead of killing him cause they thought he would be useful to make them meth and from the point on walt just had to kill the bounty hunters just needed to but had way to much of a high profile so he disappeared in to the snow and came back to secure his family's financial situation and his highschool student friend so he stole a car to save his family from debt then went to kill the bounty hunters who killed his brother in law and saved his friend and died on his own terms.

Walter did everything to save Hank, but it doesn't work when it's your day to go especially when you have one hot headed guy in the crime world vs another guy with strong morals willing to die for justice.
