I feel sorry for Ali, he seemed like an upright honourable man who tried to do the right thing while holding on to power. If Ali had been more ruthless and underhanded like Muawiya, he perhaps would have won the Fitna.

My heart deeply pours out in favour of Ali (as). He was such brave, kind and upright man and above all the nearest to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Ali ibn Abi Talib was special. It is said that one who can wield a sword in the battle and can fight courageously cannot be good with qalam(🖋️ pen) and is cold hearted. One who is a philosopher or good with writing cannot be good at fighting as they are soft hearted. But Ali was a fierce and unmatched warrior in the battle field yet being extremely soft hearted, kind and forgiving alongside. Being the best in all areas of human endeavour.

During the Battle of Siffin, Caliph Ali challenged Muawiah for a one on one battle; so that all the conflict be resolved once and for all with minimum bloodshed. Hearing this, the conqueror of Egypt, Amr ibn Al A'as told muawiah that he is left with no other choice but to accept this. Ali has made a fair offer!
Muawiah responded, "Ali has killed each and every person he ever faced in battle! How can a one on one duel against him be a fair offer?"

Ali was the most noble and chivalrous man of his time.

I have never went through such a strictly neutral & nearly accurate narration of Early Muslim History. Appreciation to K&G for their work.

It’s more complicated than people think. Ali didn’t agree with the entirety of the caliphs but accepted peace as long as it prevented bloodshed. The conspiracy of killing Othman was large and the enemies of Ali were involved. When Othman was killed it was the same people who had a hand in his death who blaimed Ali. Later the people asked Ali to be caliph and he refused to take the position if they consider him just another “fourth” caliph. But when Ali saw things going south he finally agreed to take leadership.

There's a little problem with the animation. Ali was leading his men at the front, while Muawiya was behind his.

Another prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him came true when he predicted that after him would rule the 'Caliphate of Prophecy' for thirty years. 2 of Abu Bakr, 10 of Umar, 12 of Uthman, 5.5 of Ali and Al Hassan ibn Ali ruled for 6 months before ceding his rule to Muawiyah (May Allah be pleased with them all). Also Al Hassan was prophesied by the Prophet to be a leader who would bring peace to two large dissenting groups of Muslims which did happen!

Ali (as) personally selected Malik al-Ashtar and Abdullah ibn Abbas (his first cousin) from his army for arbitration. But many people from the army of Ali rejected his choice and selected Abu Musa al-Ashari as their choice. On which Ali was really disappointed as no one didn't follow his order.

His wily enemies saw Ali's kindness as his weakness

Ali was the greatest & the most merciful Caliph in Islamic history. I love Ali, the man of his word, the man of honor.

I feel like the mention that a sizeable portion of Ali's army (In both Siffin and the battle of the camel shown in the previous video) were the rebels (Who would eventually become the Kharijites) who had originally taken up arms against Uthman and eventually had him killed is needed. Another point being that the three men who carried out the assassination attempts, were part of the Kharijite movement (The assassin of Ali having being a part of the Kharijite army who fought Ali at Nahrawan) and they viewed the 3 men (Ali, Muawyia and Amr) has heretics deserving to be killed. Also a small sidenote, Ali's son Al Hassan did assume the title of caliph for a short of time (and is considered to be the fifth rashidun caliph by some sources), but then ceded it to Muwayia, according to most Islamic sources to prevent further bloodshed in the Islamic world. Nonetheless another great video, keep up the awesome work!

Curse on the enemies of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the enemies of his family(as)

Uthman fought his own clan before with prophet Muhammad ﷺ
before they become Muslims. Moreover, some of the Umayyad governors were appointed before the Caliphate of Uthman so I don't think that he wanted to strengthen his family power depending on his previous deeds.
