Hi Jacob, Here in the U.K I had a Massey 1505 with the same 180hp Cat V8 it was one of only about 30 sold in 🇬🇧. Interestingly you had to keep RPM up at about 2850 to get that power, and it lacked low end torque. Apparently it was intended as a Marine diesel, hence not a lot of low end torque!! Only made this discovery after getting a trip on a Lifeboat that had two of them as it’s power source, great video as ever Jacob keep up the good work.

Hope we get to see a set of duals come on the TW soon. I also would love to know with a small turbo how much it would help the white. The 3208 isn’t that bad just needs that little bit more grunt.

We have 2 old 4840 and 4880 Massey articulated tractors at our farm still. Even the 4880
Is only rated for 320 horsepower, less then our Deere 8320r at 360. But those old workhorses just have raw power. Those old horses are characters for sure but from what I’ve seen they just pull like animals for the power they claim to have compared to these new engines. Our 8320r is a first gen even to its a 2009 same tractor as a Deere 8030 series just a newer cab so it doesn’t even have emissions thank god, that thing is a bloody animal already compared to the newer ones but still so different from the old iron horses

Make smoke real easy tho to btw. And those old cats are severely detuned from factory in those girls. Turning them up does wonders for them. Way
More low end power as well as top end. And better fuel consumption for sure as long as you drive it the same type thing. If you wanted it to and held it full out none stop then ya it would be worse clearly

I think with the bigger tires it gears it up a lot faster than what the chart says

Those discs back then didn't cut very deep even on softer soil types. 230 JD discs weren't any better. That was the reason we used a Miller offset disc back in the 70s-80s those things would cut bigtime. A 22ft one was about all a 2670 Case with 18.4 duals could handle.

3208s were basically a throw away engine and meant for many different applications. That was one of the biggest issues with oliver/white not having a inhouse engine and white had proposed 2 of their own Inhouse V8s in the 700-900 cubic inch range for trucks . Which i bet they would have made it into the 4 wheelers instead of the 3208

is white a fuel pressure gauge? I encountered the problem cat 3304 that the engine runs nicely but is inefficient. the cause was revealed to be the injection pump's adjustment shaft seal. as a quick fix I just installed an electric transfer pump. strength came back. I wonder if white could suffer from the same problem.

May I ask a question what did you ever do with the 2-135 White you bought with the other White. I haven't seen it anywhere on the farm I thought it was good without the cab

Not nearly as disorienting to drive that vs. a 2+2 for someone who's only ever driven "straight" tractors. The hood stays straight in front of you.
