Welcome to another video from our garage VAG Technic.

This time we have this Audi S5 B8.5 with a 3.0TFSI Supercharged engine. Originally the owner just wanted a down pipe to fit what he supplied. After a few phone calls he decided to do the PCV, water pump , thermostat and carbon cleaning at the same time. Job was estimated to be two working days but it turned into a 4 days job instead because of this... Not only that , on collection the engine started making a strange noise in front of the owner . So humiliating ...

Thank you for watching

Its not humiliating, shit can happen to anyone. what i like about you is that you don't sugarcoat anything, you give us the whole story.

Sounds like a very reasonable price for the amount of parts & labor, and for the quality workmanship, it's absolute bargain.

Comparing to prices here in US, I think yours are very affordable. Not to mention stellar work you provide.

Great content as ever. I thought that was cheap considering the amount of work involved with that job. Respect to you guys. 👍🏼

for what was done i think the bill is surprisingly fair. Owner will have been told exhaust bolts shear= engine out. I would trust these lads as they have pride in their work and will do the right thing and not cut corners. Would be the place to go for me with an Audi S class.

I go to car meets every week and when i see a 90s or before car it's all so simple in the engine bay. You could literally work on a lot at home. These things need so much specialist gear now.

Great work! I also agree it sounds more pleasant prior to the de-cat 👍

That's weird that you did not get misfire and lean mixture errors via VCDS during the test ride.
I have 3.0 supercharged. I had a failed and leaking outside PCV. My mechanics did a small test run, left for the night with an increased colling system pressure, then made a non-drive test before calling me to come for the car. Everything was fine, but I received engine MIL just 20 minutes after leaving the repair shop. Put my VCDS cable and saw than flaps stuck open and closed. Somehow mechanics messed some vacuum hoses, fixed it and everything went fine. Sometimes happens :)
However I suggested to clean and check injectors with a carbon cleaning. My mechanic was very skeptical and conservative about carbon cleaning without ripping the heads apart as there is a risk that some particles will be left and stuck between cylinder and valve for example. So we cleaned and checked injectors only.

The B6 S4 came out nicely, the white interior goes with the green perfectly. Lots of cool projects going through the shop

That's about $5800 here in Aus i think its more than a fair price considering the sheer amount of work involved plus parts . Not to mention the expertise that you carry working on these Audi's ! Im a mechanic in Australia and worked on quite a few Audi / VW there challenging to say the least . Thankyou for the videos mate !

Your forte of working on cars of this age and complexity is never going to be easy. Brave of the owner to be waiting to collect his car while you’re screwing it back together. The exhaust modification was very professionally done. All in all, a good job. Thanks for the education and making us aware how deep the water can be on this old Audi stuff. I sold my last Audi 15 years ago. I might get wet now and again but at least I’m not drowning 😂

There's another style injector attachment that clamps tight to the metallic flange allowing for more force without damaging the plastic portion of the body.

I wish we had Audi specialist like VAG Technik in Australia. I can’t even get a second hand RS5 key fob reprogrammed here. Great work guys.

Great job guys. Quality work. The humiliating thing, these things can happen. Main thing is you sorted it. Reason why you guys are one of if not the best, and people travel miles to have their Audi worked on by you. 🙏🏻
